2019 US Darts Masters
The 2019 Dafabet US Darts Masters was the third staging of the tournament by the Professional Darts Corporation. It was the first event in the 2019 World Series of Darts. The tournament featured 16 players (8 PDC representatives, and 8 North American representatives), and was held at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on 4–5 July 2019. Gary Anderson was the defending champion, after beating Rob Cross 8–4 in the 2018 final, but was beaten 8–6 in the quarter-finals by Gerwyn Price. Nathan Aspinall won his third PDC title, and his first on the World Series with an 8–4 win over Michael Smith in the final. Prize money The total prize fund was £60,000. Mandalay Bay
Mandalay Bay is a 43-story luxury resort and casino at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned by Vici Properties and The Blackstone Group and operated by MGM Resorts International. It was developed by Circus Circus Enterprises and completed at a cost of $950 million. Peter Wright (darts Player)
Peter Wright (born 10 March 1970) is a Scottish professional darts player who plays in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), where he is currently ranked No. 2 in the world. Nicknamed "Snakebite", he is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and is a two-time world champion, having won the PDC World Darts Championship in 2020 and 2022. He is also a World Matchplay champion. When he was 24, Wright qualified for the first round of the 1995 BDO World Darts Championship, but then stopped playing darts professionally, working instead as a builder and tyre fitter while competing in local darts leagues. World Series Of Darts
The World Series of Darts is a series of darts tournaments organised by the Professional Darts Corporation. Beginning in 2013, the World Series has comprised between two and seven tournaments across the world, where a mixture of the top-ranked PDC players take on local qualifiers in a knockout format. Gary Mawson
Gary Mawson (born May 17, 1963) is a Canadian-born American professional darts player. He currently resides in Fort Myers, Florida, United States. Mawson played darts for the USA in 2004 and the years immediately following, having previously played darts for Canada up to 2001. Mawson used the nickname The Mauler for his matches. Mawson's parents were born in Britain, and he also lived in Bolton, England for 4 years between the ages of 3–7 before moving back to Canada. As a result, Mawson holds dual Canadian and British citizenship. After living in the United States for many years, Mawson is now a US citizen. Leonard Gates (born November 26, 1970) is an American professional darts player who competes in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is the current PDC North American champion and 2023 WSDT Champion of Champions winner.
