Danny Baggish
Daniel "Danny" Baggish (born 19 August 1983) is a Guamanian–born American professional darts player. He had a PDC tour card from 2021 to 2022, after being the only American player to win one at Q-School in 2021. He is a sponsored by Target Darts, and has been a member of Team Target since 2019. Career He first came to prominence in 2019, when he was one of 8 North American qualifiers who played in the 2019 US Darts Masters, where he lost 6–1 to Daryl Gurney in the first round. He went on to defeat Elliot Milk and Leonard Gates, before beating Jeff Smith in the final of the North American Championship, which meant he qualified for the 2020 PDC World Darts Championship. He then won a CDC Pro Tour event in Philadelphia, defeating Joe Huffman in the final. Hagåtña, Guam
Hagåtña (; ; formerly in English: Agana , in Spanish: Agaña) is the capital village of the United States territory of Guam. From the 18th through mid-20th century, it was Guam's population center, but today it is the second smallest of the island's 19 villages in both area and population. However, it remains one of the island's major commercial districts in addition to being the seat of government. Etymology "Hagåt" (also romanized as ''haga, with a glottal stop instead of a syllable-final "t") means "blood" in the Chamorro language. Leonard Gates
Leonard Gates (born November 26, 1970) is an American professional darts player who competes in the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is the current PDC North American champion and 2023 WSDT Champion of Champions winner. He is also a former baseball player, playing for Abilene Prairie Dogs, Massachusetts Mad Dogs, Catskill Cougars and Nashua Pride. Career Gates started to play in WDF in 2007, winning numerous American darts tournaments, including exhibition ones. His first appearance in major BDO tournament was in 2017 World Masters, where he lost in the last 272 to Paul Coughlin. In 2022, Gates qualified as a seed for the 2022 WDF World Darts Championship, but he lost in the second round to Steve Hine of England. PDC World Darts Championship
The PDC World Darts Championship, known for sponsorship purposes as the Cazoo World Darts Championship, organised by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC), is a World Professional Darts Championship held annually in the sport of darts. The PDC championship begins in December and ends in January and is held at Alexandra Palace in London and has been held there since 2008. It is the most prestigious of the PDC's tournaments, with the winner receiving the Sid Waddell Trophy, named in honour of the darts commentator Sid Waddell, who died in 2012. 2019 World Masters (darts)
The 2019 One80 L-style World Masters was a major tournament on the BDO/ WDF calendar for 2019. It took place from 23 to 28 October at the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, Essex, which hosted the PDC World Darts Championship from 1994 to 2007. Adam Smith-Neale was the reigning men's champion after defeating Glen Durrant in the previous year's final by 6 sets to 4, but lost in the Last 128 to Hannes Schnier of Austria. Lisa Ashton was the defending women's champion after defeating Casey Gallagher 4 legs to 2 in last year's women final. She defended her title successfully with a 5 to 4 legs final win over Anastasia Dobromyslova. John O`Shea won his first major title with a 6 sets to 4 win over Scott Waites. World Masters (darts)
The World Masters is one of the longest-running and most prestigious of the BDO/WDF tournaments, which began in 1974. The tournament is sponsored by darts board manufacturer, Winmau. The World Masters was unusual in darts in that its sets are the best of 3 legs (first to 2) rather than the standard best of 5 legs (first to 3). It was previously the final leg of the BDO's Grand Slam title of televised majors, along with the BDO World Darts Championship, International Darts League and World Darts Trophy, until the latter two tournaments were axed in 2008. The champion is referred to as the World Master. After the collapse of the British Darts Organisation in September 2020, the World Darts Federation announced plans to launch the WDF World Masters. Mervyn King (darts Player)
Mervyn King (born 15 March 1966) is an English professional darts player who plays in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tournaments. Nicknamed The King, he has reached seven PDC major TV finals and reached a peak of No. 4 in the PDC Order of Merit. Early life King first took up the game at the age of 12, playing with an old rolled-cardboard dartboard given to him by his father. His father insisted that he played darts using competition distance and height. By the age of 13, he had ambitions to become a professional player as he was playing county darts at Superleague level. Glen Durrant
Glen Durrant (born 24 November 1970), nicknamed "Duzza", is an English former professional darts player who played in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He previously won the BDO World Darts Championship three times consecutively from 2017 to 2019. He is also a one-time World Trophy, two-time World Masters and three-time Finder Darts Masters champion. After switching to the PDC in 2019, Durrant secured his maiden PDC major title by winning the 2020 Premier League. Nathan Aspinall
Nathan Aspinall (born 15 July 1991) is an English professional darts player currently playing in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won the 2019 UK Open with a 170 checkout in the final leg against former World Champion Rob Cross. Career Aspinall began playing in PDC Development and Challenge Tour events in 2012. His first semi-final in those came in 2013, where he lost 4–2 to Max Hopp. He won a two-year PDC Tour Card in 2015 through the Q School Order of Merit and qualified for the UK Open, where he beat Chris Dobey 5–1 and James Richardson 9–4, before losing 4–9 to James Wade in the fourth round. 2022 German Darts Grand Prix
The 2022 Interwetten German Darts Grand Prix was the third of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2022 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at Kulturhalle Zenith, Munich from 16 to 18 April 2022. It featured a field of 48 players and £140,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion after defeating Simon Whitlock 8–3 in the 2019 final, but he was whitewashed 7–0 by Luke Humphries in the semi-finals. Humphries went on to win his first European Tour event, defeating Martin Lukeman 8–2 in the final. PDC European Tour
The PDC European Tour is a series of darts tournaments held across Europe organized by the Professional Darts Corporation. Starting in 2012 with five events, the number of events has steadily risen with eight held in 2013 and 2014, nine in 2015, ten in 2016, twelve in 2017, thirteen in both 2018 and 2019, and thirteen once more in 2020 (although that was reduced to four, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic), and only two events took place in 2021, with a return to thirteen events in 2022. These events see the top players on the PDC ProTour Order of Merit compete against players from six different regional qualifiers. Currently the prize fund for each tournament is £140,000, with £25,000 going to the winner.
