2019 TCR Scandinavia Touring Car Championship
The 2019 TCR Scandinavia Touring Car Championship was the ninth overall season of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship season, the third under the internationally recognised TCR formula, and the first with its new promoter. The season started at Ring Knutstorp on 4 May and ended at Mantorp Park on 5 October, after six rounds across Sweden. During the off-season, the national governing body of motorsport in Sweden, Svenska Bilsportförbundet (SBF), was informed on 6 February 2019 that promotor Scandinavian touringcar corporation AB, which was responsible for the promotion of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, declared bankruptcy. TCR Scandinavian Series AB, in cooperation with the circuits and SBF, took over as promoter of the STCC-series. Scandinavian Touring Car Championship
The Scandinavian Touring Car Championship (STCC) is a touring car racing series based in Scandinavia. The series took over from the Danish Touringcar Championship and Swedish Touring Car Championship, with its first season in 2011. The Scandinavian Touring Car Cup was awarded in 2010 to the driver with best results from selected races in the Danish and Swedish seasons. In 2013, the series merged with the rival TTA – Racing Elite League TTA – Racing Elite League was a Swedish Touring Car Championship started in 2012, founded by four of the biggest teams in Swedish Touring Car racing; Polestar Racing, Flash Engineering, WestCoast Racing and Brovallen Design in 2011. The ninth-generation Honda Civic is a range of compact cars (C-segment) manufactured by Honda between 2011 and 2017, replacing the eighth-generation Civic. It was launched in the North American market in April 2011, Europe in February 2012 and Asia-Pacific in early 2012. Rudskogen Motorsenter is Norway’s oldest asphalt race circuit, opened on May 20, 1990. It has hosted rounds of the TCR Scandinavia Touring Car Championship, Danish Thundersport Championship, Swedish GT Series, NBF GT Championship, GT4 Scandinavia, Danish Super GT, V8 Thunder Cars, Formula STCC Nordic and F4 Danish Championship. Anderstorp Raceway, previously known as Scandinavian Raceway, is a motorsport race track in Anderstorp (Gislaved Municipality), Sweden and the sole Nordic host of a Formula One World Championship Grand Prix, when the Swedish Grand Prix was held for six years between 1973 and 1978. Track history The track was built on marshlands in 1968 and became an extremely popular venue in the 1970s, just as Swede Ronnie Peterson was at the height of his career. It has a long straight (called ''Flight Straight'', which is also used as an aircraft runway), as well as several banked corners, making car setup an engineering compromise. Unusually, the pit lane is located halfway round the lap. The raceway hosted six Formula One Swedish Grand Prix events in the 1970s. Jessica Bäckman (born 25 August 1997) is a Swedish racing driver currently competing in the ADAC TCR Germany for Comtoyou Racing. She is the sister of fellow racing driver Andreas Bäckman. Jessica Bäckman has previously raced in World Touring Car Cup where she was the first women to achieve World Cup points in the series, and she was recently crowned the Vice Champion title in ADAC TCR Germany. Target Competition is an Italian auto racing team based in Eppan an der Weinstraße, Italy. The team is currently competing in the World Touring Car Cup and others TCR series.
