2019 Ole Miss Rebels Baseball Team
The 2019 Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Rebels played their home games at Swayze Field. Previous season The Rebels finished 48–17 overall, and 18–12 in the conference. The Rebels tied their school record for wins, won a share of the SEC Western Division Championship, and won the SEC tournament. The Rebels entered the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball tournament as the #4 National Seed. The Rebels looked to continue their hot streak as they won the first 2 games of the Oxford Regional. Mike Bianco
Michael F. Bianco (born May 3, 1967) is an American baseball coach and former catcher, who is the current head baseball coach of the Ole Miss Rebels baseball, Ole Miss Rebels. He played college baseball at Indian River Community College before transferring to LSU Tigers baseball, LSU where he played for coach Skip Bertman from 1988 to 1989. Bianco served as the head coach of the McNeese State Cowboys baseball, McNeese State Cowboys (1998–2000) before being named head coach at Ole Miss. He has led the Rebels to two College World Series appearances (2014 College World Series, 2014 and 2022 College World Series, 2022), with Ole Miss winning their first national championship in 2022. Nick Fortes
Nicholas Fortes (born November 11, 1996) is an American professional baseball catcher for the Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021. Amateur career Fortes attended DeLand High School in DeLand, Florida. Undrafted out of high school, he attended the University of Mississippi and played college baseball for the Rebels. In his junior season at Ole Miss, he hit .319/.435/.519 with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs. He was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 4th round of the 2018 MLB draft. Conway High School is a comprehensive public school in Conway, Arkansas, United States. Conway High School serves over 2,000 students and is administered by the Conway School District. The school has been nationally recognized as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, and has won 50 state championships in numerous interscholastic sports. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases.
