2019 European CFL Draft
The 2019 CFL European Draft took place on April 11, 2019. Nine players were chosen from a pool of 18 European players who attended the 2019 CFL Combine. Background In October 2018, Canadian Football League (CFL) commissioner Randy Ambrosie outlined a plan to grow the CFL's presence, which he dubbed CFL 2.0, including growth internationally. As part of this expansion the CFL held a special draft in January 2019 with the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top-level pro American football league in Mexico. Players selected there were not signed to teams but rather had their rights held by their selecting teams. Junior College Football
This is a list of schools of United States community colleges that offer a football program. The two largest associations are the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA). In the NJCAA, of 512 member colleges, 53 sponsored a football program, as of November, 2021. This reflects the elimination of football at seven Arizona community colleges in 2018; one in Minnesota and one in North Dakota in 2019; and one in Kansas in 2021. Edmonton Eskimos
The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club competes in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member of the league's West Division and plays their home games at the Brick Field at Commonwealth Stadium. The Elks were founded in 1949 as the Edmonton Eskimos and have won the Grey Cup championship fourteen times (including a three-peat between 1954 and 1956 and an unmatched five consecutive wins between 1978 and 1982), most recently in 2015. Montreal Carabins
The Montréal Carabins are the men's and women's athletic teams that represent the Université de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Asnnel Robo (born November 4, 1993) is a professional gridiron football fullback for the Stuttgart Surge of the European League of Football. Early life Robo was born in Cayenne, French Guiana and later moved to France. After playing soccer in his youth, he began playing gridiron football when he was 18 years old while he was studying in Marseille. University career After moving to Canada, Robo played U Sports football as a running back for the Montreal Carabins from 2015 to 2018. Over his four year career, he had 677 rushing yards and six touchdowns, including 145 rushing yards in a single game against Concordia in his senior year. The Montreal Alouettes (Canadian French, French: Les Alouettes de Montréal) are a professional Canadian football team based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1946, the team has folded and been revived twice. The Alouettes compete in the Canadian Football League East Division, East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and last won the Grey Cup championship in 98th Grey Cup, 2010. Thiadric Hansen (born December 26, 1992) is a German professional Canadian football linebacker for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Professional career Early career Hansen first played for the Flensburg Sealords in the Oberliga before joining the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes in 2012. He played for the Hurricanes for seven years and was the club's all-time leading tackler. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a professional Canadian football team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Berlin Rebels
The Berlin Rebels are an American football team from Berlin, Germany. The team is playing in the German Football League, the highest level of American football in Germany. In the most recent seasons the Rebels managed to qualify for the play-offs. At junior level, the club had more success, having taken out the German Junior Bowl on three occasions, in 1992, 1996 and 2000. McGill Redmen Football
The McGill Redbirds football team represents McGill University in Canadian football in U Sports and is based in Montreal, Quebec. The program is one of the oldest in all of Canada, having begun organized competition in 1874. The team won its first collegiate championship in 1902 and also won in 1912, 1913, 1919, 1928, 1938 and 1960 prior to the inauguration of the Vanier Cup in 1965. McGill appeared in the Vanier Cup final in 1969, 1973 and 1987, with the Redmen finally winning the title in the 1987 game. Valentin Gnahoua
Valentin Gnahoua (born September 29, 1994) is a French professional gridiron football defensive end for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was the first overall pick by the Tiger-Cats in the 2019 European CFL Draft. Gnahoua has also been a member of the Berlin Rebels and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Early years Gnahoua began playing American football in 2011, joining a local semi-pro team, the ''Caimans du Mans'', as a sixteen-year old.
