2018–19 Pro Basketball League
The 2018–19 Pro Basketball League, for sponsorship reasons the EuroMillions Basketball League, season was the 92nd season of the Pro Basketball League (PBL), first tier of basketball in Belgium. The season started on 5 October 2018 and ended 13 June 2019. Filou Oostende captured its eight consecutive league title after defeating Antwerp Giants in the playoff finals. Teams All ten teams from the previous season would return this season. Nine teams got A-licences, which allows for participation in European competitions, while Leuven Bears received a B-licence and therefore could not play in Europe. Kangoeroes Willebroek moved from Willebroek to the city of Mechelen and changed its name into Kangoeroes Mechelen. BC Oostende changed its name to Filou Oostende for sponsorship reasons. The 2017–18 Pro Basketball League, for sponsorship reasons the EuroMillions Basketball League, was the 91st season of the Belgian Basketball League, first tier of basketball in Belgium. The defending champion was Oostende. The season started on 23 September 2017 and ended 14 June 2018. Teams Antwerp Giants changed its name to Telenet Giants Antwerp, following a sponsorship agreement with Telenet. Meanwhile, Telenet left Oostende which meant the sponsored club name disappeared after seven years. Willebroek (, old spelling: ''Willebroeck'') is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of , Heindonk, , Klein Willebroek, and Willebroek proper. In 2021, Willebroek had a total population of 27,081. The total area is 27.41 km². Willebroek is linked to Brussels by the Willebroek Canal. Mons (; German and nl, Bergen, ; Walloon and pcd, Mont) is a city and municipality of Wallonia, and the capital of the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Mons was made into a fortified city by Count Baldwin IV of Hainaut in the 12th century. The population grew quickly, trade flourished, and several commercial buildings were erected near the ''Grand’Place''. Kangoeroes Basket Mechelen, also known as Kangoeroes or Kangoeroes Mechelen, is a basketball club based in Mechelen, Belgium. Founded in 2009, the club plays in the BNXT League. Kangoeroes have been playing in the top tier division in Belgium for years, since 2013. Previously, the team played in Boom and Willebroek. In 2018, the club moved to Mechelen. Okapi Aalst is a Belgian professional basketball club from Aalst, Belgium. The club competes in the top tier BNXT League and plays its home games in the Okapi Forum, which has a seating capacity of 2,800 people.
