Steve Campbell (American Football)
Steve Campbell (born April 11, 1966) is an American football coach and former player. Campbell was the head football coach at the University of South Alabama from 2018 to 2020. Campbell has previously served as head football coach at Southwest Mississippi Community College from 1997 to 1998, Delta State University from 1999 to 2001, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College from 2004 to 2013 and the University of Central Arkansas from 2014 until 2017. He has been involved with three National Championship winning teams — first as an NCAA Division II player in 1987, then as a D-II head coach in 2000 and lastly as a junior college head coach in 2007. Personal life Campbell was a football player in college, starting at center in 43 straight games for Southeastern Louisiana and Troy State University. The 2018 Texas State Bobcats football team represented Texas State University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Bobcats played their home games at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos, Texas, and competed in the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference. They were led by third-year head coach Everett Withers. The Battle for the Belt is an American college football rivalry game between two public universities in the U.S. state of Alabama, University of South Alabama Jaguars and the Troy University Trojans. Troy leads the all-time series at 8–3. History The South Alabama Jaguars were co-founding members of the Sun Belt Conference in 1976. Troy joined the conference in 2004 as a football-only member. Allen E. Paulson Stadium is a 25,000-seat on-campus football stadium in Statesboro, Georgia. It is home to the Georgia Southern Eagles football team and the focal point of Erk Russell Athletic Park. The Mountaineers were led by sixth-year head coach Scott Satterfield and played their home games at Kidd Brewer Stadium. They competed as a member of the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference.
