2018 Appalachian State Mountaineers Football Team
The 2018 Appalachian State Mountaineers football team represented Appalachian State University during the 2018 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Mountaineers were led by sixth-year head coach Scott Satterfield and played their home games at Kidd Brewer Stadium. They competed as a member of the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 11–2, 7–1 in Sun Belt play to be co-champions of the East Division with Troy. Due to their head-to-head win over Troy, they represented the East Division in the inaugural Sun Belt Championship Game where they defeated West Division champion Louisiana to become Sun Belt Champions for the third consecutive year and first time outright. They were invited to the New Orleans Bowl where they defeated Middle Tennessee. On December 3, head coach Scott Satterfield resigned to become the head coach at Louisville. Scott Satterfield
Fredric Scott Satterfield (born December 21, 1972) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head football coach at the University of Cincinnati. Satterfield previously served as the head football coach at the University of Louisville from 2019–22 and Appalachian State University from 2013–18. Playing career Satterfield played quarterback for Orange High School, located in Hillsborough, North Carolina, from 1989 to 1991. He attended Appalachian State from 1991 to 1996 and started 27 games at quarterback from 1992–95 under Coach Jerry Moore. As a senior in 1995, Satterfield led the Mountaineers to an undefeated regular season and the quarter final of the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs, where they lost to Stephen F. Austin State University. Dillon, South Carolina
Dillon is a city in Dillon County in eastern South Carolina, United States. It is the county seat and largest city of Dillon County. It was established on December 22, 1888. Colquitt County High School (CCHS) is a public high school located in unincorporated Colquitt County, Georgia, United States, near Moultrie and with a Norman Park postal address; it has a student body averaging 1,700. Moultrie is the county seat and largest city of Colquitt County, Georgia, United States. It is the third largest city in Southwest Georgia, behind Thomasville and Albany. Ke'Montae Tayvon "Tae" Hayes (born August 19, 1997) is an American football cornerback for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). Since 1990 the Doak Walker Award honors the top running back in college football in the United States.
