2018 Rugby League European Championship B
The 2018 Rugby League European Championship B (also known as Euro B) was ninth edition of the Rugby League European Championship B and acted as the second phase of European qualifying to the 2021 Rugby League World Cup. The series involved three teams in pool play and took place in October 2018. The two highest ranked teams, Russia and Spain, advanced to the European play-off. In August 2019, Russia withdrew from the play-off tournament and were replaced by Serbia. The Rugby League European Championship (formerly known as the European Cup and European Nations Cup) is a rugby league football tournament for European national teams that was first held in 1935. Rugby League Positions
A rugby league team consists of thirteen players on the field, with 4 substitutes on the bench. Each of the thirteen players is assigned a position, normally with a standardised number, which reflects their role in attack and defence, although players can take up any position at any time. Players are divided into two general types, forwards and backs. Forwards are generally chosen for their size and strength. They are expected to run with the ball, to attack, and to make tackles. Forwards are required to improve the team's field position thus creating space and time for the backs. Backs are usually smaller and faster, though a big, fast player can be of advantage in the backs. 2020 Rugby League European Championship B
The 2021 European Championship B is an international rugby league tournament that took place in October 2021. Originally scheduled to take place in October 2020, the tournament was postponed in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
