Makiš Stadium
Makiš Stadium is the home ground of FK Milicionar, Milicionar. It's also known simply as Milicionar Stadium. The all-seated stadium was named after Makiš, Makiš forest. The stadium has a seating capacity for around 4,000. Since 2013 Rugby League World Cup qualifying, 2011 Rugby League World Cup qualifications tournament, Serbia national rugby league team use this stadium as its home ground. Čukarica
Čukarica ( sr-cyr, Чукарица, ) is a Subdivisions of Belgrade, municipality of the city of Belgrade, Serbia. Name Like several other neighborhoods of Belgrade, Čukarica was named after a kafana. At the present location of the Sugar Refinery in Čukarica, Sugar Refinery, there was a kafana in the second half of the 19th century. It was very popular as it was located at the point where two roads, one from Obrenovac and other from Šumadija, meet at the entrance to Belgrade. It was owned by Stojko Čukar and the kafana was named “Čukareva kafana” after him, which later gave name to the settlement. FK Milicionar () is a defunct Association football, football club based in Makiš, Belgrade, Serbia. History Founded in 1946, the club was operated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Serbia), Ministry of Internal Affairs. They won the Second League of FR Yugoslavia (Group East) in 1997–98 Second League of FR Yugoslavia, 1998 and took promotion to the First League of FR Yugoslavia, First League. The club spent the next three seasons in the top flight, before finishing bottom of the table in 2000–01 First League of FR Yugoslavia, 2000–01. They subsequently merged with FK Radnički Obrenovac, Radnički Obrenovac, which continued to compete in the 2001–02 Second League of FR Yugoslavia. Serbia National Rugby League Team
The Serbia national rugby league team represents Serbia in the sport of rugby league football. They have competed in international competition since 2003 under the administration of the Serbian Rugby League. They are coached by Englishman Darren Fisher, and captained by Stevan Stevanović. History 1950s–1960s Rugby League was first played in Serbia in 1953 when it was introduced by Dragan Marsicevic, secretary of the Yugoslav Sport Association. Two French teams toured later that year, and in 1954 the clubs Partizan and Radnički were formed. These clubs played their first match on 26 April 1954. In 1961 a Yugoslav Rugby League team played its only game against a French Select XIII team in Banja Luka. The French team won 13–0. Makiš
Makiš () is a forest and an urban neighborhood of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is located in Belgrade's municipality of Čukarica. Location Makiš is bordered by the Sava river and Sava Lake to the west and north, Čukarica and Čukarička Padina to the northeast, Julino Brdo, Žarkovo, Bele Vode and Rupčine to the east, Železnik to the south and Ostružnica to the southwest. Geography For the most part, Makiš is a marshy forest, crossed by many small streams and canals, most notably the ''Marevica''.
