2018 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy
The 2018 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 37th and the last edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy for men. It was held from 23 June to 1 July 2018 in Breda, Netherlands. The tournament will be replaced by the Hockey Pro League (HPL) in 2019. Australia won their 15th title by defeating India in the final after penalties. Qualification Alongside the host nation, the defending champions, the last Olympic, World Cup and World League champions qualified automatically. The remaining spots were nominated by the FIH Executive Board, making a total of 6 competing teams. Colin Batch (born 27 March 1958) is a professional international field hockey coach and former international player from Australia. Batch is the head coach of the Australian Men's national hockey team the ''Kookaburras'' following his appointment on Tuesday 6 December 2016. He was the head coach of the New Zealand Men's national hockey team the '' Black Sticks'' between 2013 and 2016. Nicolás Enrique Della Torre (born 1 March 1990) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for Belgian Hockey League club Dragons and the Argentina national team. Club career Della Torre played in Argentina for Ciudad de Buenos Aires. When he became the top scorer of the Argentinian league in 2017, he transferred to the Netherlands to play for Den Bosch.
