2018 International Friendship Championship
The 2018 International Friendship Championship was a friendly association football, football tournament for the national teams of Iraq, Syria and Qatar. It took place during the March 2018 window of the FIFA International Match Calendar, and began less than a week after FIFA lifted the ban on competitive games being played inside Iraq. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in Karbala but was relocated to Basra. Qatar won the title by beating hosts Iraq and drawing with runners-up Syria. The last game of the tournament saw Noor Sabri make his 100th and last appearance for Iraq. Results ---- ---- References

Akram Hassan Afif Yahya Afif Al Yafei ( ar, أكرم عفيف; born 18 November 1996) is a Qatari professional footballer who plays as a left winger for Qatar Stars League club Al Sadd and the Qatar national team. Omar Al Somah ( ar, عمر السومة; born 28 March 1989) is a Syrian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Qatar Stars League club Al-Arabi, on loan from Saudi club Al Ahli, and the Syria national team. Nicknamed in Syria as ''Al ʿAqqid'' ( ar, العكيد) which is a historical civil character in Damascus known for participating in the resistance against occupiers and for being courageous, helpful and generous. Muhammad Taqi Aljaafari Bin Jahari (born 25 October 1986) is a Singaporean international football referee. He has been a FIFA listed referee since 2012, and has also refereed a number of AFC Champions League matches. Taqi Aljaafari has also refereed matches in the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India. Firas Mohamad Al Khatib ( ar, فراس محمد الخطيب; born 9 June 1983) is a Syrian former footballer who mainly played as a forward. He is the Syria national team all-time top goalscorer, with 36 goals.
