Al-Majd Sports Club ( ar, نادي المجد الرياضي) is a Syrian football club based in Damascus, Syria. The club is insignificant compared to the city rival Al-Wahda, but more popular than the other rival Al-Jaish. History The club was founded in 1932 under the name of Damascus Al-Ahly Club, and is one of the oldest football clubs in Damascus and the whole country. The club's greatest success is the Syrian cup victory in the 1960/61 and 1977/78 season. At the end of the 2007/08 season of Premier League, the club was runner-up and thus achieved its highest ranking in the league at all. The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Under its current rules, the competition is played primarily between clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots in the top-tier AFC Champions League, based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking. Al-Kuwait SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the most successful clubs in the competition's history, having won three titles each. The 2021 Iraqi Super Cup was the 10th edition of the Iraqi Super Cup. It was held on 17 September 2021 between the 2020–21 Iraqi Premier League champions and FA Cup winners Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and the league's runners-up Al-Zawraa. This was Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya's sixth Super Cup appearance overall while Al-Zawraa extended their record to eight appearances. The Iraqi Super Cup ( ar, كأس السوبر العراقي), previously called Iraqi Perseverance Cup ( ar, كأس المثابرة العراقي), is Iraqi football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous Iraqi Premier League season and the holders of the Iraq FA Cup. The Iraqi Premier League ( ar, الدوري العراقي الممتاز) is the top level of the Iraqi football league system. Contested by 20 clubs, it is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA) and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Iraq Division One. Al-Zawraa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الزوراء الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Utayfia, Karkh District (near Tigris River), Baghdad. Their football team compete in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Al-Zawraa are the most decorated club in Iraq having won 14 Premier League titles, 16 Iraq FA Cups and 5 Iraqi Super Cups, all national records. Al-Zawraa also won the Iraqi Elite Cup a joint-record 3 times. 2011–12 Syrian Premier League
The 2011–12 Syrian Premier League season is the 41st since its establishment. The 2010–11 Syrian Premier League, 2010–11 league campaign was suspended due to the Syrian civil war. This seasons league will feature two stages. Stage one will pit two groups of eight teams and kicked off on 9 October. The top four off each group would advance to the Championship pool to determine the overall league champions. The bottom four placed sides would enter the relegation pool to determine who would be relegated.
