2017–18 Greek Basketball Cup
The 2017–18 Greek Basketball Cup was the 43rd edition of Greece's top-tier level professional national domestic basketball cup competition. The previous winners of the cup were Panathinaikos Superfoods. The cup competition started on 13 September 2017, and ended 17 February 2018. AEK won the competition. Format The top six placed teams from the top-tier level Greek Basket League 2016–17 season, gained an automatic bye to the 2017–18 Greek Cup quarterfinals. While the eight lower placed teams from the 2016–17 Greek Basket League season; along with all of the teams from the 2nd-tier level Greek A2 Basket League 2017–18 season, and the 3rd-tier level Greek B Basket League 2017–18 season, play in preliminary rounds, competing for the other two quarterfinals places. A single-elimination, knockout, or sudden death tournament is a type of elimination tournament where the loser of each match-up is immediately eliminated from the tournament. Forfeit (sport)
In various sports, a forfeit is a method in which a match automatically ends, and the forfeiting team loses. There are two distinct forms of forfeiture. One occurs when a team is unable (or refuses) to meet the basic standards for playing the game, either before the game begins or as a result of actions that happen during the match. In such a case, the team not forfeiting wins the match. Koropi ( el, Κορωπί, ) is a suburban town in East Attica, Greece. It is the seat of the municipality Kropia. It has been home to the new training facilities of Panathinaikos football club since the summer of 2013. Pagrati Athens parent sports athletic association was founded in 1929. The sport club's basketball department, Pagrati B.C., was founded in 1938. Around the era of 1950, was the basketball club's first peak period, which established it as one of the big Greek clubs of that era.
