2017 Strade Bianche
The 2017 Strade Bianche was a road cycling one-day race that took place on 4 March. It was the eleventh edition of the Strade Bianche and was the fifth event of the 2017 UCI World Tour. It was the first time that the race was included in the UCI World Tour calendar. Poland's Michał Kwiatkowski () became the second rider, after Fabian Cancellara, to win multiple editions of the race, after attacking from a group of four race favourites with around remaining and was able to solo away to the race victory. Second place was taken by Greg Van Avermaet for the fifteen seconds in arrears, while a further two seconds back in third place, 's Tim Wellens completed the podium. Teams As a new event to the UCI World Tour, all UCI WorldTeams were invited to the race, but not obligated to compete in the race. 2017 UCI World Tour
The 2017 UCI World Tour was a competition that included thirty-seven road bicycle racing, road cycling events throughout the 2017 in men's road cycling, 2017 men's cycling season. It was the ninth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2009. The competition started with the opening stage of the 2017 Tour Down Under, Tour Down Under on 17 January and concluded with the final stage of the 2017 Tour of Guangxi, Tour of Guangxi on 24 October. Slovakia's Peter Sagan was the defending champion. The 2017 edition featured ten new events. Thibaut Pinot (born 29 May 1990) is a French professional road bicycle racer, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . Once considered one of the most promising talents in French cycling, he finished third overall in the 2014 Tour de France and first in the young rider classification. Tiesj Benoot (born 11 March 1994) is a Belgian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Lotto–Soudal (2015–19) Benoot turned professional with the Belgian UCI World Tour team in 2015, after riding for the outfit in 2013 and 2014, and riding some races as a stagiaire in autumn 2014. Benoot made an instant impact in the professional ranks by placing fifth in his first Tour of Flanders. Christopher Juul-Jensen (born 6 July 1989) is a Danish bicycle racing, racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Luke Durbridge (born 9 April 1991) is an Australian road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Durbridge specialises in the individual time trial, road races, and various track cycling events. As well as winning the 2012 Australian National Time Trial Championships, Durbridge won both the time trial and the Australian National Road Race Championships in 2013. Tom Dumoulin (; born 11 November 1990) is a retired Dutch professional road bicycle racer who last rode for UCI WorldTeam . He has won nine stages across the three Grand Tours, five medals in three different World Championships and two Olympic silver medals.
