2017 GT4 European Series Southern Cup
The 2017 Championnat de France FFSA GT - GT4 European Series Southern Cup was the first season of the GT4 European Series Southern Cup and the 20th season of the French FFSA GT Championship, a sports car championship created and organised by the Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO). Calendar At the annual press conference during the 2016 24 Hours of Spa on 29 July, the Stéphane Ratel Organisation announced the first draft of the 2017 calendar. The final calendar was announced on 23 December. The series started at Nogaro on 16 April and ended at Paul Ricard on 15 October. Entry list Race results Bold indicates overall winner. Championship standings ;Scoring system Championship points were awarded for the first ten positions in each race. Entries were required to complete 75% of the winning car's race distance in order to be classified and earn points. The FFSA GT Championship (''Championnat de France FFSA GT'') is a French Grand Touring-style sports car racing series that began in 1997. It is the main event of the ''Championnat de France des Circuits'' (formerly called ''Super Série FFSA'' and ''GT Tour''). It is controlled by the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile (FFSA) and organized by racing company Oreca. Since the demise of the French Supertouring Championship after the 2005 season, the French GT has become France's major circuit racing championship. Grégoire Demoustier (born 26 January 1991 in Villeneuve-d'Ascq) is a French racing driver, who competes in the World Touring Car Championship for Sébastien Loeb Racing. Career Demoustier began his career in 2008, competing in the THP Spider Cup and the Mitjet Series. In 2009 he debuted in single-seaters, racing in Formula BMW Europe. In 2010 he began taking part in GT racing, contesting the FFSA GT Championship in an Aston Martin DBRS9 for the LMP Motorsport team, and co-driven by Grégory Guilvert. He also took part in the 24 Hours of Spa, finishing 21st in a Gulf Team First Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 GT3. Simon Gachet (born 14 October 1993) is a French racing driver who currently competes in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup for Tresor by Car Collection. Career Early career An avid rugby player as a young boy, Gachet was not heavily involved with motorsports in his youth. He was introduced to motorsport through car magazines, and discovered single-seater racing while attending the Formula Motorsport school at the Circuit du Laquais. ART Grand Prix is a French motor racing team that competes in formula single-seaters in Europe. TFT Racing is a French racing team. The team was very successful in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series winning three drivers titles in four years.
