2017 Boston Pizza Cup
The 2017 Boston Pizza Cup was held from February 8 to 12 at the Rotary Spirit Centre in Westlock, Alberta. Qualification process Twelve teams qualified for the provincial tournament through several methods. The qualification process is as follows: ;Notes # The defending champion usually receives the first berth, however the defending champion from 2016, Kevin Koe, won the 2016 Tim Hortons Brier and therefore entered the 2017 Brier as Team Canada, negating any need for him to compete in the Boston Pizza Cup. In addition, 2015 Brier champion Pat Simmons, who had competed as Team Canada in 2015 and 2016 with the team Koe won the 2014 Boston Pizza Cup and Brier titles with, would also have been eligible for direct entry into the 2017 Boston Pizza Cup as a past provincial/national champion. Westlock is a town in central Alberta, Canada. Founded in 1913, the town is primarily an agricultural, business, and government administration centre serving communities and rural areas within surrounding Westlock County. Adam Enright
Adam Enright (born November 16, 1983, in Rosalind, Alberta) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. He is a former alternate for Kevin Martin's rink with whom he won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics as well as wins at the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier and the 2008 World Men's Curling Championship. Currently, Enright plays third for Kurt Balderston's rink. Career In 2002, Enright won the Alberta Junior Championship as the third for Justin Jacobsen. The team finished with a 6–6 record at the 2002 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Since juniors, Enright has played for such skips as Chris Schille, Charley Thomas and Mark Johnson. 2016 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2016 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held from March 5–13, 2016 at TD Place Arena in Ottawa, Ontario. It is the fourth time the Brier has been held in Ottawa, and the fifth time the Brier has been held in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. It is the first time the Brier has been held in Ottawa since the 2001 Nokia Brier. Alberta won the Brier 9–5 in the final against Newfoundland and Labrador, giving skip Kevin Koe his third Brier title. With the win, the Koe rink represented Canada at the 2016 World Men's Curling Championship held from April 2–10, 2016 at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland. They also represented Team Canada at the 2017 Tim Hortons Brier in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador and earned $225,000 for the victory. The bronze medal game was won by Northern Ontario. Jeremy Harty (born May 22, 1995) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. He currently plays third for Team Aaron Sluchinski. Career Harty competed in the 2016 Alberta Junior Curling Championships with his team of Kyler Kleibrink, Joel Berger and Gregg Hamilton. The team went undefeated until the final where they lost to the Karsten Sturmay rink 7–4. The next season, the team aged out of juniors and competed in their first provincial championship.
