The 2017 BRD Bucharest Open was a professional tennis tournament played on red clay courts. It was the 4th edition of the tournament and part of the 2017 WTA Tour. WTA International Tournaments
The WTA International Tournaments was a category for professional tennis tournaments of the Women's Tennis Association from the 2009 WTA Tour until 2020, which replaced the previous Tier III and Tier IV categories. The winner of a WTA International adds 280 points to her WTA ranking. For the 2020 season, there were 32 tournaments, all knock-out tournaments with a prize money for every event at $275,000 ($775,000 for Shenzhen, and $525,000 for Guangzhou and Hong Kong). Tatjana Maria (née Malek; born 8 August 1987) is a German professional tennis player. Arantxa Rus (; born 13 December 1990) is a Dutch tennis player. In 2008, she won the girl's singles title at the 2008 Australian Open – Girls' singles, Australian Open, defeating Jessica Moore (tennis), Jessica Moore from Australia in the final. Sesil Radoslavova Karatantcheva ( bg, Сесил Радославова Каратанчева; born 8 August 1989) is a Bulgarian former tennis player. In her career, she won nine singles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit. On 7 November 2005, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 35. On 19 April 2010, she peaked at No. 154 in the doubles rankings. Karatantcheva is perhaps best known for reaching the quarterfinals of the 2005 French Open, upsetting seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams en route.
