2017 Asian Junior Badminton Championships
The 2017 Badminton Asia Junior Championships is the 20th edition of the Asia continental junior championships to crown the best U-19 badminton players across Asia. This tournament was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, between 22 and 30 July 2017. There were 23 countries across Asia competing in this tournament. Venue This tournament was held at Jaya Raya Sports Hall Training Center. Medalists In the mixed team event, South Korea team clinched the gold medal after upset the host country Indonesia with the score 3–2. Japan and Malaysia share the bronze medals after lose in the semi final match. In the individual event, China won 2 golds in the girls' singles and boys' doubles. Malaysia, South Korea, and Indonesia won a gold in boys' singles, girls' doubles and mixed doubles respectively. Yeremia Erich Yotje Yacob Rambitan (born 15 October 1999) is an Indonesian badminton player, who also plays for Exist Jakarta in the national event. He won the mixed doubles Junior National Championships title in 2016, and the boys' doubles bronze medal at the World Junior Championships in 2017. Ikhsan Rumbay
Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay (born 15 January 2000) is an Indonesian badminton player, who also plays for the PB Djarum club in national events. He also attended Special Sports School Ragunan. Career Rumbay started his senior tournament at the 32nd Brazil International. He played from the qualification round and made it to quarter final where he lost to Jason Ho-shue 15–21 18–21. A week later, he played at the III Peru International Series where he became runner-up to Luis Ramón Garrido. In December 2017, he clinched the boys' singles title at the Junior National Championships in Pangkal Pinang, after beating Gatjra Piliang Fiqihilahi Cupu in straight games. Rumbay was part of the national junior team that won the bronze medals at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships in the team and singles event. Rinov Rivaldy (born 12 November 1999) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club. He won the gold medal at the 2017 World Junior Championships, and bronze medals at the 2019 and 2021 Southeast Asian Games in the mixed doubles with Pitha Haningtyas Mentari. Career 2023 In January, Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari started 2023 BWF World Tour by losing in the first round of Malaysia Open from 8th seed Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue of France. Adnan Maulana (born 23 October 1999) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Jaya Raya Jakarta club. He won a bronze medal in the mixed doubles at the 2021 Southeast Asian Games partnered with Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso. Career In 2019, Maulana won his first senior international title at the 2019 Iran Fajr International in the men's doubles event partnering Ghifari Anandaffa Prihardika. He then won his World Tour title at the Russian Open in the mixed doubles with Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso. Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto (born 28 February 2000) is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Djarum club. Early life and career His father Tri Kusharjanto, is an Olympic silver medalist in badminton in 2000, and his mother Sri Untari, was an Asian Champion in 1992. He started practicing badminton with his father at the age of 5, and joined the Djarum club in 2013.
