2017 ADAC Formula 4 Championship
The 2017 ADAC Formula 4 Championship was the third season of the ADAC Formula 4. It began on 29 April at Oschersleben and finished on 24 September at Hockenheim after seven triple header rounds. Teams and drivers In December 2016, ten teams and twenty eight cars were confirmed for the 2017 season: Race calendar and results All rounds, except the second Oschersleben round were part of ADAC GT Masters weekends. Championship standings Points were awarded to the top 10 classified finishers in each race. No points were awarded for pole position or fastest lap. Drivers' Championship For the second race in Nürburgring, only half points were awarded because of a red flag finish that was less than half of the race distance after Cedric Piro's crash. The 2017 ADAC GT Masters was the eleventh season of the ADAC GT Masters, the grand tourer-style sports car racing founded by the German automobile club ADAC. The season started on 29 April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and ended on 24 September at Hockenheim after seven double-header meetings. Marcus Armstrong
Marcus Cornelius Armstrong (born 29 July 2000) is a New Zealand motor racing driver. He is due to compete in IndyCar on road and street courses with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2023. Previously he competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship between 2020 and 2022. He was a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy between 2017 and 2021. Armstrong started single-seaters in 2014, and in the following year won his only single-seater title to date in the 2017 Italian F4 Championship whilst becoming runner-up in the 2017 ADAC Formula 4 Championship. He stepped to the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in 2018, ending 5th. The championship merged into the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2019, and Armstrong became runner-up to teammate Robert Shwartzman. Piro Sports is a German auto racing team based in Heusweiler, Germany. The team currently participates in the ADAC GT4 Germany after previously competed in single-make touring car series and junior formula racing such as ADAC Formula 4 and Formula Renault 1.6 NEC Junior. History The team was founded by hillclimb racing driver Erwin Piro in 1998 to compete in the Ford Puma Cup. Job van Uitert (born 10 October 1998 in Dongen) is a racing driver from the Netherlands. He is currently racing in the LMP2 class of the European Le Mans Series with Panis Racing. Early career Beginnings and Mazda MX-5 Cup Having come from a family of racing drivers, Van Uitert began racing in karts at the age of seven until pausing his career two years later due to his competitors benefitting from a high amount of "illegal equipment". Kush Maini (born 22 September 2000) is an Indian racing driver currently competing in the 2023 Formula 2 Championship for Campos Racing. He has previously competed in Formula 4, the Formula Renault Eurocup, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the BRDC British Formula 3 Championship, and most recently FIA Formula 3. He is the younger brother of Arjun Maini, also a racing driver who competed in GP3 and Formula 2, and the nephew of Indian business magnate Chetan Maini. Nicklas Nielsen (born 6 February 1997 in Hørning) is a professional Ferrari GT factory racing driver from Denmark. Career Karting Nielsen began karting when he was 4 years old back in 2001. He competed in many international events and championships, winning ten major titles. Lower formula In 2016, Nielsen made his single-seater debut in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship in Germany, finishing 8th and winning the Rookie's championship while racing for the Austrian Neuhauser Racing team, scoring 3 podiums and 2 fastest laps. Fabio Luca Scherer (born 13 June 1999) is a racing driver from Switzerland, currently competing in the endurance racing, representing Inter Europol Competition in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Mick Wishofer (born 8 October 1999) is an Austrian racing driver who currently competes in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for GRT Grasser Racing Team. Career Karting Wishofer started karting in 2008. His accolades include winning the Rotax Max Challenge Austria and Rotax Max Challenge Hungary in 2011.
