Leo Austria
Leovino R. Austria (born March 14, 1958), better known as Leo Austria, is a Filipino former professional basketball player and the current head coach of the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Playing career Austria played his college basketball for the Lyceum of the Philippines University while also suiting up in the commercial Philippine Amateur Basketball League via Masagana 99. In 1984, he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Ambassador's Cup before joining the PBA. In 1985, a new team Formula Shell drafted him, aside from nabbing fellow PABL standout Sonny Cabatu in the said draft. He made a quick impact for the new but veteran laden Shell squad and won the Rookie of the Year honors at season's end. His average of 3.9 points per game for that season marked the lowest average for a Rookie of the Year awardee up to that time. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Gelacio "Gee" Abanilla is a Filipino basketball player, coach, and executive who currently serving as the Team Manager for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Playing career He played for the DLSU Green Archers in the UAAP and with Magnolia Ice Cream in the PBL which were both coached by Derrick Pumaren. He was 4th round pick of 7-Up Bottlers during the 1993 PBA Draft. Coaching career Assistant coach He was once an assistant coach of DLSU Green Archers, Purefoods TJ Hotdogs, FedEx Express, ICTSI-La Salle, and Red Bull Barako respectively from 1998 to present. Jorge Gallent
Jorge Gallent (born June 18, 1968) is a Filipino professional basketball assistant coach for the San Miguel Beermen in the Philippine Basketball Association. University Athletic Association of the Philippines Gallent participated in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for the FEU Tamaraws Men's Basketball team but it ended as the result of a motorcycle accident and lost his right eye in 1988 in Alabang Hills. He then shifted into non contact sports and became a topnotch junior golfer. Development league In the Philippine Basketball League, Gallent saw action for the A&W Root Beer team in 1992. He was also part of the Stag Pale Pilsen grandslam team. He would serve as an assistant coach to the Welcoat Paintmasters.
