Curling Competitions In Edmonton
Curling is a sport in which players slide #Curling stone, stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Kira Michaela Brunton (born March 17, 1999) is a Canadian curler originally from Sudbury, Ontario. She currently plays third on Team Danielle Inglis. In 2015, she won the gold medal at the 2015 Canada Winter Games playing third for Megan Smith. Career Brunton made her first national appearance at the 2015 Canada Winter Games where she played third for Megan Smith. After a 6–0 round robin record, they defeated Saskatchewan in the semifinal and Nova Scotia in the final to claim the gold medal. Cora Farrell (born May 23, 1999) is an American curler from Fairbanks, Alaska. She was a silver medalist at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. Career Farrell has competed in eight consecutive Junior National Championships. Her first was in 2013 at only 13 years old, playing third for Kaitlin Fowler. They finished the tournament with a 3–6 win–loss record, in a four-way tie for sixth place. Farrell's best results at Junior Nationals have been in 2017, 2019, and 2020, each time earning the silver medal. Rachel Erickson (born January 9, 1999) is a Canadian curler from Maryfield, Saskatchewan. She is currently the lead on Team Chelsea Carey. She was the alternate for the Mackenzie Zacharias rink that won the 2020 World Junior Curling Championships. Career Erickson's first national championships was in 2016 at the 2016 U18 International Curling Championships where she skipped Saskatchewan to a 3–2 record. She won the provincial championship again the following year and finished 3–5 at the 2017 Canadian U18 Curling Championships. Two years later, she won her first provincial junior title and finished in seventh place with a 5–5 record at the 2019 Canadian Junior Curling Championships in her home province. Kayla Skrlik (born September 10, 1997) is a Canadian curler from Calgary, Alberta. She currently skips her own team out of the Garrison Curling Club. Career Skrlik broke onto the junior scene when she skipped Team Alberta at the 2016 U18 International Curling Championships. There, she led her team to a 3–2 round robin record, just missing the playoffs. She represented Alberta at her first junior nationals at the 2018 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. At the championship, Skrlik led her team of Ashton Skrlik, Hope Sunley and Megan Johnson to a 4–2 round robin record, enough to qualify for the championship round. They then went 3–1 against the other pool, however, this was not enough to qualify for the playoffs and they finished in fourth place with a 7–3 record.
