2016 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2016 UCI Women's World Tour was the first edition of the UCI Women's World Tour. It featured nine one-day races of the former UCI Women's Road World Cup, plus another four one-day races. However, unlike its predecessor, the World Tour also incorporated four stage races, in China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Italy respectively. The individual classification was won by American rider Megan Guarnier, riding for the team. Guarnier took the lead of the standings after winning the Tour of California, maintaining it for the remainder of the year, adding further race victories at the Philadelphia Cycling Classic, and the Giro d'Italia Femminile. Her closest competitor, Canada's Leah Kirchmann () finished over 300 points in arrears in second place. Danielle 'Dani' Rowe MBE (née King; born 21 November 1990) is a British former road and track cyclist. She retired from cycling in December 2018. A team pursuit gold medallist from the London Olympics in 2012, Rowe also won three consecutive world titles in the women's team pursuit, winning in 2011, (with Laura Trott and Wendy Houvenaghel), 2012 (with Trott and Joanna Rowsell), and 2013 (with Trott and Elinor Barker). Evelyn Lee Stevens (born May 9, 1983) is an American retired professional road cyclist. Early life Stevens was born in Claremont, California but grew up in Acton, Massachusetts, where she attended Acton-Boxborough Regional High School. She studied government and women and gender studies at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire and was a member of the college's tennis team.
