The 2016 Fórmula 3 Brasil season is the tenth Fórmula 3 Brasil season and the second since 1995, replacing the Formula 3 Sudamericana series as the highest-profile single-seater championship on the continent. Fórmula 3 Brasil was a Brazilian Formula Three racing competition, organised by the Vicar and CBA. It is a junior-level feeder formula that uses small single seater Formula Three chassis. Stock Car Pro Series, formerly known as Stock Car Brasil, is a touring car auto racing series based in Brazil organized by Vicar. It is considered the major Brazilian and South American motorsports series. Starting in 1979 with Chevrolet as the only constructor, the series has also seen other constructors joining in and leaving such as Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Volkswagen, currently the only other beside Chevrolet is Toyota. Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba (also known as Autódromo de Pinhais and Circuito Raul Boesel) was a motorsports circuit located in Pinhais, Brazil. It has been host to the World Touring Car Championship, TC2000, Fórmula Truck and Stock Car Brasil racing. Until 2013 the circuit has also been host of the South American Formula 3 Series, namely the Formula 3 Sudamericana. The circuit also formerly hosted the Brazilian Formula Three Championship. The circuit also hosted the "Festival Brasileiro de Arrancada", from 1992 to 2016, which was the biggest drag racing event in Latin America. The Autódromo José Carlos Pace, better known as Interlagos, is a motorsport circuit located in the city of São Paulo, in the neighborhood of Interlagos. It was inaugurated on 12 May 1940, by the federal intervener Adhemar de Barros. The traditional name of the circuit and of the neighborhood itself comes from the fact that it is located in a region between two large artificial lakes, Guarapiranga and Billings, which were built in the beginning of the 20th century to supply the city with water and electricity. In 1985 the circuit was renamed to honor the Formula 1 driver José Carlos Pace, who died in a plane crash in 1977. Attached to its facilities there is a Kart circuit named after Ayrton Senna. The Autódromo Internacional Zilmar Beux de Cascavel is an automobile racing complex located off Highway BR-277 in the city of Cascavel, Paraná, Brazil. The paved track is long. History The first races were carried out by automobiles on city streets in the 1960s, by amateurs and locals, which led to the building of a permanent location for motorsport events. In 1973 the Automóvel Clube de Cascavel circuit opened, being the third track with asphalt in the country. The track came to host main competitions at national level.
