2016 F4 Spanish Championship
The 2016 F4 Spanish Championship was the inaugural season of the Spanish F4 Championship, a motor racing series regulated according to FIA Formula 4 regulations, taking place in Spain and Portugal. The championship featured drivers competing in 1.4 litre Tatuus-Abarth single seat race cars that conformed to the technical regulations for the championship. The series was organised by Koiranen GP and RFEDA. It began on 11 June at the Circuito de Navarra and finished on 16 October at the Circuito del Jarama after 20 races held across seven rounds. MP Motorsport driver Richard Verschoor dominated the season and sealed the title after taking hat-trick at Jarama. While his team won the teams' championship. Richard Verschoor
Richard Verschoor (born 16 December 2000) is a Dutch racing driver set to compete for Van Amersfoort Racing in the Formula 2 Championship. Verschoor graduated to Formula 2 in 2021 with MP Motorsport before switching to Charouz Racing System, after two years in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with MP Motorsport. Verschoor became the first Dutch driver to win the Macau Grand Prix, winning at his first attempt in 2019. He is a former Red Bull Junior Team member, the 2016 SMP F4 and Spanish F4 champion, where he won both single-seater championships in his debut year. Career Karting Verschoor started karting in 2011. He raced in several national karting series in the Netherlands from 2011 to 2013. In 2014, Verschoor moved to the European series where he won the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy. Danny Kroes (born 5 November 1999) is a Dutch racing driver currently competing in the TCR International Series and TCR Benelux Touring Car Championship. Having previously competed in the SMP F4 Championship and F4 Spanish Championship amongst others. Racing career Kroes began his career in 2011 in Karting, he continued in karting until 2015. In 2016 he switched to the SMP F4 Championship, he finished the season twelfth in the championship standings that year. He also raced in the F4 Spanish Championship finishing eleventh in the standings. For 2017 he switched to the TCR Benelux Touring Car Championship, driving a SEAT León TCR for Ferry Monster Autosport partnering Pepe Oriola. Circuit Ricardo Tormo, also known as ''Circuit de Valencia'' and officially named ''Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo'', is a motorsport race track located in Cheste (Valencian Community, Spain) and built in 1999. The track is named after Spanish, two-time world champion Grand Prix motorcycle racer Ricardo Tormo (1952–1998), who died in 1998 of leukemia. It has a capacity of 165,000 and a main straight of . The 2016 Campeonato Nacional de Velocidade Turismos is the second season of the TCR Portuguese Series. Starting from this season, the championship will run separate from the GT Class of the championship (that will form che ''Endurance'' Class) organised by FullEventos. The F4 Spanish Championship ( es, Campeonato de España de Fórmula 4) is an FIA Formula 4 racing series. The championship was planned to launch in 2015, though the inaugural season was cancelled and delayed until 2016. Koiranen GP was the promoter of the championship for the first two seasons. The current promoter is Agrupación Deportiva F4 Spain. History Gerhard Berger and the FIA Singleseater Commission launched the FIA Formula 4 in March 2013. The goal of the Formula 4 is to make the ladder to Formula 1 more transparent. Besides sporting and technical regulations, costs are regulated too. The 2016 GT Series Sprint Cup (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2016 Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup) was the fourth season following on from the demise of the SRO Group's FIA GT1 World Championship (an auto racing series for grand tourer cars), the third with the designation of Blancpain Sprint Series or Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup. 2016 Euroformula Open Championship
The 2016 Euroformula Open Championship was a multi-event motor racing championship for single-seat open wheel formula racing cars that held across Europe. The championship featured drivers competing in two-litre Formula Three racing cars built by Italian constructor Dallara which conform to the technical regulations, or formula, for the championship.
