2015–16 Greek Handball Premier
The 2015–16 Greek Handball Premier is the 37th season of the Greek Handball Premier. Teams The clubs for the 2015–16 season: Regular season Pld – Played; W – Won; D – Drawn; L – Lost; GF – Goals for; GA – Goals against; Diff – Difference; Pts – Points. Second round In the second round, the teams were divided into two groups of six (based on their regular season standings) and competed for places 1 to 6 in the first group, and for places 7 to 12 in the second. Teams started the second round with their regular season points halved (and rounded up) and faced each other once. In the 1–6 group, the teams started with the following points: Diomidis 20 points, Filippos 18, PAOK 16, DIKEAS Nea Ionia 14, Poseidon Loutrakiou 12, ASE Douka 11. Greek Men's Handball Championship
The Greek Men's Handball Championship, or Handball Premier, is the most important competition of Greek handball. The competition which is organised by Hellenic Handball Federation (Greek: ΟΧΕ) started in 1979–80 season. The most successful team is Ionikos Nea Filadelfeia who has won ten titles. The last title was won by Olympiacos. Evangelos Kalfarentzos, fitness director of the Panhellenic Gymnastics Association of Athens (Panellinios), physical education teacher and author, recognized as rapporteur of the sport in Greece. Competition Format The season begins with a tournament between the twelve teams. The first six teams qualify for a play-off round, while the last three plays play-out. Handball In Greece
Greece has risen to prominence in a number of sporting areas in recent decades. Football in particular has seen a rapid transformation, with the Greece national football team winning the UEFA Euro 2004. A2 Ethniki Handball
A2 Ethniki Handball is the 2nd-tier of Greek handball championship. It is held in two groups with teams separated according to geographical criteria. The first teams of each group promoted to A1 Ethniki Handball, A1 Ethniki. In recent year, the champions were Aris Nikaias and AESH Pylaias. The previous season the winners were Ionikos Nea Filadelfeia and Aeropos Edessas. However, Archelaos Katerinis had replaced Ionikos Nea Filadelfeia, Ionikos in A1 Ethniki, because it had withdrawn from this championship. Loutraki
Loutraki ( el, Λουτράκι) is a seaside resort on the Gulf of Corinth, in Corinthia, Greece. It is located west of Athens and northeast of Corinth. Loutraki is the seat of the municipality Loutraki-Perachora-Agioi Theodoroi. The town is known for its vast natural springs and its therapeutic spas. There are many tourists who visit Loutraki every year (especially in summer) because of its crystal clear sea. The Casino of Loutraki has thousands of visitors every day. Sykies
Sykies ( el, Συκιές) or Sykeai (Συκεαί) is a suburb of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and was a former municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Greece. Nea Ionia
Nea Ionia ( el, Νέα Ιωνία, meaning New Ionia) is a northern suburb of Athens, Greece, and a municipality of the Attica region.
