Manga (Japanese: 漫画 ) are comics or graphic novels originating from Japan. Most manga conform to a style developed in Japan in the late 19th century, and the form has a long prehistory in earlier Japanese art. The term ''manga'' is used in Japan to refer to both comics and cartooning. Outside of Japan, the word is typically used to refer to comics originally published in the country. In Japan, people of all ages and walks of life read manga. Masayuki Ishikawa
is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known for '' Moyasimon: Tales of Agriculture'' and ''Maria the Virgin Witch''; both of which were adapted into an anime television series. Career He made his debut as a manga artist in 1997 with the short story ''Nippon Seifu Chokkatsu Kidō Sentai Kōmuin V'' in the magazine ''Bessatsu Young Magazine''. In 1999 he won the Tetsuya Chiba Award for the short story ''Kami no Sumu Yama'', which was later collected in the collection ''Hitokiri Ryōma''. His commercial and critical breakthrough came in 2004 with the series '' Moyasimon: Tales of Agriculture'', which was serialized in the magazine ''Evening''. ''One Piece'' (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It has been serialized in Shueisha's ''shōnen'' manga magazine ''Weekly Shōnen Jump'' since July 1997, with its individual chapters compiled into 104 ''tankōbon'' volumes . The story follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a boy whose body gained the properties of rubber after unintentionally eating a Devil Fruit. , established in 1999, is the holding company at the head of a Japanese corporate group that supplies statistics and information on music and the music industry in Japan and Western music. It started as, which was founded by Sōkō Koike in November 1967 and became known for its music charts. Oricon Inc. was originally set up as a subsidiary of Original Confidence and took over the latter's Oricon record charts in April 2002. The charts are compiled from data drawn from some 39,700 retail outlets (as of April 2011) and provide sales rankings of music CDs, DVDs, electronic games, and other entertainment products based on weekly tabulations. A Silent Voice (manga)
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Ōima. The series was originally published as a one-shot in Kodansha's ''Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine'' and was later serialized in ''Weekly Shōnen Magazine'' from August 2013 to November 2014. Its chapters were collected in seven ''tankōbon'' volumes. The manga was digitally released in English by Crunchyroll Manga and was licensed by Kodansha USA in North America. An anime theatrical film adaptation produced by Kyoto Animation was released in September 2016. Kazuhiko Shimamoto
is a Japanese people, Japanese Mangaka, manga artist. He attended college at the Osaka University of Arts in the fine arts department. While in college in February 1982, he debuted in the spring special issue of Shōnen Sunday with Hissatsu no Tenkōsei. At this point he dropped out of college and devoted his energies to becoming a Mangaka, manga artist. Shimamoto is responsible for several long-running and well-known manga series. He drew Honō no Tenkōsei from 1983 to 1985, as well as the Moeyo Pen saga, which began as a 1 volume comic published in 1990 but was continued in two more series totaling 24 volumes. He also worked with Shotaro Ishinomori on a Skull Man manga based on Ishinomori's originally intended storyline, which was licensed in the US by Tokyopop. Aoi Honō
is a Japanese coming-of-age manga series written and illustrated by Kazuhiko Shimamoto. It was serialized in Shogakukan's ''seinen'' manga magazine ''Weekly Young Sunday'' from March 2007 to July 2008, when the magazine ceased its publication; a chapter was published in ''YS Special'' in October 2008, before being transferred to Shogakukan's then-brand-new ''shōnen'' manga magazine ''Monthly Shōnen Sunday'' in May 2009. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Ai Kozaki. It revolves around the life of a timid girl who joins a naginata club to improve herself. It was serialized in Shogakukan's ''Big Comic Spirits'' magazine from January 2011 to September 2020, with its chapters compiled into thirty-four ''tankōbon'' volumes. is a Japanese Mangaka, manga artist. Her debut short story, "" ( "Angel"), was published in the September 1995 issue of ''Bessatsu Shōjo Comic'' magazine and won the 36th Shogakukan Comic Award. Joō No Hana
is a Japanese historical romance manga series written and illustrated by Kaneyoshi Izumi. The story revolves around Aki, a cheerful princess who is treated coldly by others, despite her royal title. One day, Aki meets Hakusei, a slave boy with golden hair and blue eyes. The two form a bond, overcoming their differences in status; however, danger awaits them. The manga premiered in Shogakukan's ''Betsucomi'' magazine in the November 2007 issue (released on October 13). It was serialized on an irregular basis until the June 2010 issue (released on May 13), after which it was serialized every other month. The final chapter was published in the January 2017 issue (released on December 13, 2016).
