2015 European Curling Championships – Women's Tournament
The women's tournament of the 2015 European Curling Championships will be held from November 20 to 28 in Esbjerg, Denmark. The winners of the Group C tournament in Champéry, Switzerland, will move on to the Group B tournament. The top eight women's teams at the 2015 European Curling Championships will represent their respective nations at the 2016 Ford World Women's Curling Championship in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada. Swift Current
Swift Current is the fifth largest city in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It is situated along the Trans Canada Highway west of Moose Jaw, and east of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Swift Current grew 6.8% between 2011 and 2016, ending up at 16,604 residents. The city is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Swift Current No. 137. Oona Kauste
Oona Kauste (born 4 January 1988, in Espoo) is a Finnish curler from Helsinki. She is currently the skip of the Finnish National Women's team. Career Women's Kauste has represented Finland in seven European Curling Championships. She was an alternate at her first European Championships in 2009. The team, skipped by Ellen Vogt placed 8th. She played second and as a skip at the 2011 European Curling Championships, placing 12th. She returned the following year playing third for Anne Malmi, placing 10th. She returned to the Euros at the 2013 European Curling Championships playing second for Puustinen. The team finished in 11th place, winning the B Division, and promoting Finland to the A Division of the 2014 European Curling Championships. Helle Simonsen (curler)
Helle Simonsen (born 7 September 1984 in Hvidovre) is a Danish curler. Career In 2001, she represented Denmark for the first time, playing third for Denise Dupont. The team qualified for the 2001 World Junior Curling Championships, where they finished 9th. They did not manage to qualify again until the 2004 World Junior Curling Championships, when Simonsen played second for the rink (now skipped by Madeleine Dupont. Denmark finished 6th. That same year, they represented Denmark at the 2004 Ford World Women's Curling Championship where they placed 8th and the 2004 European Curling Championships where they placed 8th as well. Simonsen would then join up with Nielsen. She found some success with her new rink, winning bronze medals at the 2006 World Junior Curling Championships and the 2007 European Curling Championships.
