Chinese Basketball Association
The Chinese Basketball Association (), often abbreviated as the CBA, is the first-tier professional men's basketball league in China. The league is commonly known by fans as the CBA, and this acronym is even used in Chinese on a regular basis. The CBA should not be confused with the National Basketball League (NBL), which is a professional minor league. There is also a Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA). A few Chinese players who competed in the CBA in the early stages of their careers — including Wang Zhizhi, Mengke Bateer, Yao Ming, Yi Jianlian, Sun Yue, and Zhou Qi — have also played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Others such as Xue Yuyang and Wang Zhelin were chosen in the draft, but have not played in the NBA. Only a limited number of foreign players are allowed on each CBA team. Bobby Brown (basketball)
Robert Douglas Brown (born September 24, 1984) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the NBA G League Ignite of the NBA G League. Standing at , he plays the point guard position. After graduating from Cal State Fullerton, Brown entered the 2007 NBA draft, but went undrafted. In his first pro season, he played overseas with the German League team Alba Berlin, and in 2008, he returned to the United States, where he played for several NBA teams, including the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets, and the Los Angeles Clippers. While playing for Montepaschi Siena in the 2012–14 season, Brown tied a EuroLeague scoring record since the 2000–01 season, with 41 points (the all-time EuroLeague single-game scoring record is 99 points, held by Radivoj Korać). Von Wafer
Vakeaton Quamar "Von" Wafer (born July 21, 1985) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Florida State Seminoles. Wafer has previously played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, Houston Rockets, Boston Celtics and Orlando Magic. He was the 39th overall selection (ninth pick of the second round) in the 2005 NBA draft by the Lakers. His nickname is "The Dutch Cookie". Michael Harris (born June 15, 1983) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Magnolia Hotshots of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). College career Harris played college basketball for Rice University and finished his career as Rice's all-time leading scorer (2,014 points) and rebounder (1,111 boards). Professional career Harris played professionally for BC Kyiv of the Ukrainian Super League during the 2005–06 season. In the 2006–07 NBA preseason, Harris was signed by the Milwaukee Bucks, with whom he averaged 6.0 points per game and 2.4 rebounds per game in five preseason games before being cut from the team before the regular season started. Shanxi
Shanxi (; ; formerly romanised as Shansi) is a landlocked province of the People's Republic of China and is part of the North China region. The capital and largest city of the province is Taiyuan, while its next most populated prefecture-level cities are Changzhi and Datong. Han Dejun () is a Chinese basketball player who currently plays for Liaoning Flying Leopards in the Chinese Basketball Association. CBA career Han Dejun signed his first professional contract with Chinese Basketball Association side Liaoning Flying Leopards and was used sparingly in his debut season, averaging 1.2 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game. Liaoning
Liaoning () is a coastal province in Northeast China that is the smallest, southernmost, and most populous province in the region. With its capital at Shenyang, it is located on the northern shore of the Yellow Sea, and is the northernmost coastal province of the People's Republic of China. Historically a gateway between China proper and Manchuria, the modern Liaoning province was established in 1907 as Fengtian or Fengtien province and was renamed Liaoning in 1929. Lester Hudson
Lester Hudson III (born August 7, 1984) is an American professional basketball player for the Shandong Heroes of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). In the 2007–08 season, Hudson recorded the only quadruple-double in NCAA Division I men's basketball history. At the conclusion of the season, he declared himself for the 2008 NBA draft, but later withdrew. Hudson was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 58th pick of the 2009 NBA draft, but was later waived. He was then signed by the Memphis Grizzlies. Hudson later played for the Washington Wizards and Cleveland Cavaliers before returning to the Grizzlies in April 2012. Elijah Lee Holman (born March 22, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Libertadores de Querétaro of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP). After playing at Richmond High School (Richmond, California), Richmond High School in California, Holman signed for the Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball, Indiana Hoosiers, and played one year of college basketball before transferring to Detroit Mercy Titans men's basketball, Detroit Mercy for his sophomore year. Zhejiang
Zhejiang ( or , ; , also romanized as Chekiang) is an eastern, coastal province of the People's Republic of China. Its capital and largest city is Hangzhou, and other notable cities include Ningbo and Wenzhou.
