2014–15 St. Bonaventure Bonnies Men's Basketball Team
The 2014–15 St. Bonaventure Bonnies men's basketball team represented St. Bonaventure University during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bonnies, led by eighth year head coach Mark Schmidt, played their home games at the Reilly Center and were members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 18–13, 10–8 in A-10 play to finish in a three way tie for sixth place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the A-10 Tournament where they lost to Dayton. For the second consecutive year, the Bonnies accumulated a winning record but did not receive an invite the postseason; the team failed to qualify for the National Invitation Tournament and, in accordance with school policy, preemptively ruled out participating in either the College Basketball Invitational or CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.Butler, J. Mark Schmidt
Mark Schmidt (born February 12, 1963) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball head coach at St. Bonaventure University. He took the job at the start of the 2007–08 season after holding the same position at Robert Morris University for six seasons (2001–2007), compiling a record of 82–90. Prior to becoming the head coach at Robert Morris, he served as an assistant coach at Xavier University under Skip Prosser from 1994 to 2001. During the 2008–09 season, he led St. Bonaventure to a 15–15 record, and an appearance in the Atlantic 10 postseason tournament, the school's first since 2005. Schmidt has led the Bonnies to Atlantic 10 Tournament Championships in 2012 and 2021 in addition to Atlantic 10 regular season championships in 2016 and 2021. Marquise Simmons (born November 9, 1989) is an American former professional basketball player. He played collegiately in the Atlantic 10 Conference for the St. Bonaventure Bonnies. Professional career Simmons turned professional in 2014, when he signed his first contract with Aris Leeuwarden. In 2015, Simmons signed with Njarðvík of the Icelandic Úrvalsdeild karla. He was released by the club in December 2015. In 9 league games, Simmons averaged 18.7 points and 11.4 rebounds. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. Point Guard
The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position.
