2014 McGrath Cup
The 2014 McGrath Cup was a Gaelic football competition played by the teams of Munster GAA. The competition differs from the Munster Senior Football Championship as it also features further education colleges and the winning team does not progress to another tournament at All-Ireland level. Kerry were the defending champions after defeating Tipperary in the 2013 final. Tipperary, Limerick, Waterford and Clare refused to take part in the 2014 competition in protest at the Munster Council’s decision to seed the 2014 Munster Football Championship and keep Cork and Kerry on separate sides of the draw. The competition was won by Cork who defeated Kerry in the final by four points on 19 January in Mallow. McGrath Cup
The McGrath Cup is a Gaelic football competition played each January in Munster Munster ( gle, an Mhumhain or ) is one of the provinces of Ireland, in the south of Ireland. 2014 Munster Senior Football Championship
The 2014 Munster Senior Football Championship was that year's installment of the annual Munster Senior Football Championship held under the auspices of Munster GAA. It was one of the four provincial competitions of the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Kerry entered the competition as defending Munster champions. In September 2013, it was announced that the Munster Championship would become a seeded competition for 2014. This allowed footballing powerhouses Cork and Kerry to avoid each other until the final - where they duly met, Kerry emerging victorious and proceeding to an All-Ireland Final against Donegal. Mary Immaculate College (Coláiste Mhuire gan Smál), also known as MIC and Mary I, is a College of Education and Liberal Arts. The Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT; ga, Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Luimnigh) was an institute of technology, located in Limerick, Ireland. The institute had five campuses that were located in Limerick, Thurles, Clonmel, as well as a regional learning centre in Ennis. The main campus was located at Moylish Park in Limerick adjacent to Thomond Park and housed the Faculty of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology and the School of Business and Humanities. Cork Institute of Technology (CIT; ga, Institiúid Teicneolaíochta Chorcaí) was an institute of technology, located in Cork, Ireland. Upon its dissolution, the institute had 17,000 students studying in art, business, engineering, music, drama and science disciplines. Tralee IT GAA
Tralee IT GAA was the GAA team in the Institute of Technology, Tralee, Ireland. They played Gaelic football, hurling, ladies' Gaelic football and camogie. On 1 January 2021, Tralee IT (now known as MTU Kerry) merged with Cork IT to become Munster Technological University. Gaelic football The football club competes in the Sigerson Cup and Higher Education Leagues as well as the McGrath Cup. The Ladies football team play in the O'Connor Cup and Higher Education Leagues. UCC GAA
UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. Mallow, County Cork
Mallow (; ) is a town in County Cork, Ireland, approximately thirty-five kilometres north of Cork. Mallow is in the barony of Fermoy. It is the administrative centre of north County Cork, and the Northern Divisional Offices of Cork County Council are located in the town. Mallow is part of the Cork East Dáil constituency. Brian Cuthbert
Brian Cuthbert (born 1975) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. Born in Bishopstown, Cork, Cuthbert first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor team, before later lining out with the under-21 side. Although he never played in the senior grade, Cuthbert won an All-Ireland medal as captain of the minor team in 1993. At club level Cuthbert is a two-time championship medallist in the intermediate grade with Bishopstown as a hurler. In retirement from playing Cuthbert became involved in team management and coaching. He began his career with various Cork development squads and the Cork Institute of Technology freshers team, before two years as manager of the Cork minor football team. He served as a senior selector under Conor Counihan while he also is heavily involved in coaching with the Bishopstown club side.
