2014 Football Federation Tasmania Season
The Football Federation Tasmania 2014 season was the second season under the new competition format in Tasmania. The competition consists of three major divisions across the State of Tasmania, created from the teams in the previous structure. The overall champion for the new structure qualified for the National Premier Leagues finals series, competing with the other state federation champions in a final knockout tournament to decide the National Premier Leagues Champion for 2014. Men's Competitions 2014 NPL Tasmania The 2014 T-League season was played over 21 rounds, from March to August 2014. Football Federation Tasmania
Football Tasmania (FT) is the governing body for soccer in the Australian state of Tasmania. The federation oversees competitions across Tasmania, Tasmanian representative teams, and development of the sport in the state. The federation was known as the Tasmanian Soccer Association until 1996, when it was renamed to Soccer Tasmania. In line with national changes in March 2006, it became Football Federation Tasmania. In February 2019, the organisation became simply Football Tasmania. Football Tasmania sanctions all competitive football matches in Tasmania, either directly in the case of its own leagues, or indirectly, as is the case with local regional junior associations. FT also trains and appoints match officials in accordance with FIFA guidelines. Somerset FC
Somerset Football Club, also known as the "Sharks", is a soccer club which represents Somerset in the Tasmanian Northern Championship. The club also fields teams in all junior divisions, as well as women's teams. Somerset play their home games at Somerset Recreation Ground, in Somerset, Tasmania. Somerset Football Club was formed in 1979 by a dedicated soccer player known as Nigel Brown. He wanted to create a club for the Somerset and Wynyard area. They began their life playing home games at Wynyard High School, before relocating to the Somerset Recreation Ground (Shark Park). In 2006 Somerset won the Tasmanian Championship for the first time, having already won the Northern Premier League title. Nelson Eastern Suburbs FC
Nelson Eastern Suburbs Football Club is an association football club based in the suburb of Risdon Vale Risdon Vale, Tasmania in Hobart, Australia. The club currently participates in the Tasmanian Southern Championship 2, at present, the 4th highest level of football in Southern Tasmania. The club also has a women's team and an team in one junior division. Founded in 1977 the club spent much of its history playing in the highest level of Southern Tasmanian football. New Town Eagles
New Town Eagles Soccer Club is a soccer, football (soccer) club which represents New Town, Tasmania, New Town in the Tasmanian Southern Championship. The club also fields teams in all junior divisions. New Town Eagles play their home games at Clare Street, in New Town. The club began life as White Eagle, who proudly represented the Polish people, Polish migrant community in Tasmania. Many Poles came to Tasmania immediately after World War II to seek a new life and better conditions following the devastation of the war. Many Poles who came to Tasmania found good jobs on the dangerous but well paid giant Hydro Tasmania#Later history - interrupted dam making, dam-building schemes of the then "Hydro-Electric Commission" (now Hydro Tasmania). University Soccer Club is a soccer club which represents the University of Tasmania in the Tasmanian Southern Championship which fields both men's and women's teams. History The university first competed in the KO Cup in 1957, although it is believed football was played here prior to this time. They did well in their inaugural year, although drawing the KO Cup final 1–1 against South Hobart, they won on the toss of a coin. They won again after a 1–1 draw the following year, this time against ANM and by right of the most corners in extra-time. 1960 saw them Division 1 champions, and promoted into the Southern Premier League for the first time, where they finished 5th in their first season. The Southern Championship is an association football league in Southern Tasmania. It is jointly with the Northern Championship, the second highest level soccer competition in Tasmania. Ulverstone Soccer Club, is a soccer club which represents Ulverstone in the Tasmanian Northern Championship. The club also fields teams in all junior divisions, as well as women's teams. Ulverstone play their home games at the Ulverstone Show grounds, in Ulverstone, Tasmania. Ulverstone's only brief period of glory came when they won back-to-back Northern Premierships in 1994, and 1995, local twins Shaun and Adam Conkie who both played with Ulverstone in this period were recruited to the Morwell Falcons in the National Soccer League in 1996. Australian Soccer League System
The Australian soccer league system is the league structure for soccer clubs in Australia. The league system in Australia since 1977 has involved one top divisional league controlled by Football Australia and many leagues run within each state below. The National Soccer League stood from 1977 to 2004 as the top nationwide tier above the current state-based league systems, in 2005, the A-League was established as its successor. The introduction of the National Premier Leagues in 2013 introduced a direct second tier of soccer in Australia, underpinning the A-League.
