The 2013 World Junior Curling Championships were held from February 28 to March 10 at the Ice Cube Curling Center in Sochi, Russia. Sochi is also scheduled to host the curling tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Sochi
Sochi ( rus, Со́чи, p=ˈsotɕɪ, a=Ru-Сочи.ogg) is the largest resort city in Russia. World Junior Curling Championships
The World Junior Curling Championships are an annual curling bonspiel featuring the world's best curlers who are 21 years old or younger. The competitions for both men and women occur at the same venue. The men's tournament has occurred since 1975 and the women's since 1988. Since curling became an Olympic sport in 1998, the World Junior Curling Championship of the year preceding the Olympic Games have been held at the site of the curling tournament for the upcoming Games. The event has its origins in the International Junior Masters Bonspiel which began in 1968 and was held annually at the East York Curling Club. By 1973, the tournament began being called the International Junior Curling Championship and the World Junior Curling Championship in 1974, before being officially sanctioned in 1975. Xu Jingtao
Xu Jingtao (; born August 5, 1993, in Harbin) is a Chinese curler. Career As a junior curler, Xu played lead for the Chinese men's team (skipped by Jiang Dongxu) at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships, finishing with a 1–8 record. He also played for China (skipped by Wang Jinbo), throwing second rocks at the 2015 Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships, picking up a silver medal. After juniors, Wang joined the Chinese men's national team in 2017, playing second for the team, skipped by Zou Dejia for the 2017–18 season, and then as lead for the 2018–19 season on the team, which was skipped by Zou Qiang. Jiang Dongxu (; born March 3, 1993) is a Chinese curler from Harbin. He represented China at the 2022 Winter Olympics as the alternate on the Chinese men's team skipped by Ma Xiuyue. He also won a silver medal at the 2018 Pacific-Asia Curling Championships. Career Jiang represented China twice at the World Junior Curling Championships in 2012 and 2013. His team finished 4–5 at the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships and 1–8 at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships. Career Juniors Barry is a four-time New Brunswick junior champion, winning provincial championships between 2010 and 2013. At the 2010 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, he skipped his New Brunswick team of Chris Sleep, Blake Hunter and Alex Kyle to a 5–7 record. At the 2011 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Barry threw fourth stones on a team skipped by Jon Rennie. That team went 8–4 in round robin play, and lost in a tiebreaker against Newfoundland and Labrador. At the 2012 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, Barry was back to skipping. Colton Lott (born July 21, 1995) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba. He currently plays second on Team Matt Dunstone, and also curls with Kadriana Lott in mixed doubles. Career Juniors Lott's first curling success came with representing Manitoba at the 2011 Canada Winter Games, where he won a bronze medal, playing third for the team, which was skipped by Kyle Doering. This same team won the Manitoba Junior championship in 2012, and represented the province at the 2012 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Matt Dunstone
Matthew Dunstone, nicknamed "the Sheriff" (born June 25, 1995) is a Canadian curler from Kamloops, British Columbia. Career Dunstone won the Canadian Junior Curling Championships in 2013. He represented Canada at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships, where he won the bronze medal. He was unable to defend his championship at the 2014 Canadian Juniors after losing in the finals of the Manitoba Canola Juniors to Braden Calvert. The next time he would represent Manitoba was in 2016, after winning the 2016 Manitoba Canola Juniors. This earned the Dunstone rink a spot in the 2016 Canadian Juniors where he won his second title after defeating Northern Ontario 11-4 in the final, and represented Canada at the 2016 World Junior Curling Championships, winning a bronze medal.
