2013 Australian Drivers' Championship
The 2013 Formula 3 Australian Drivers' Championship was a CAMS sanctioned Australian motor racing title, the winner of which was awarded the 2013 CAMS Gold Star. It was the 57th Australian Drivers' Championship and the ninth to be contested with open wheel racing cars constructed in accordance with FIA Formula 3 regulations. The championship began on 29 March at the Mount Panorama Circuit and ended on 17 November at Sandown Raceway after seven rounds across five different states and territories. Formula 3 Management Pty Ltd was appointed by CAMS as the Category Manager for the Championship. With nine victories and nine second places, Tim Macrow won his second Australian Drivers' Championship title by 32 points ahead of seven-time race winner John Magro, while Nick Foster rounded out the top three placings, with two race victories to his name. The Australian Drivers' Championship was a motor racing championship contested annually from 1957 to 2014 by drivers of cars complying with Australia's premier open-wheeler racing category as determined by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport. From 2005 to 2014 this category was Australian Formula 3, Formula 3 and the championship was promoted as the Formula 3 Australian Drivers' Championship. Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit
The Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is a motor racing circuit located near Ventnor, on Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. The current circuit was first used in 1956. History Road circuit Motor racing on Phillip Island began in 1928 with the running of the 100 Miles Road Race, an event which has since become known as the first Australian Grand Prix. It utilised a high speed rectangle of local closed-off public roads with four similar right hand corners. The course length varied, with the car course approximately per lap, compared to the motorcycle circuit which was approximately in length. Sodemo Moteurs is a motor vehicle engine tuning company based in Magny-Cours, near Nevers, France, owned by Guillaume Maillard. Formed in 1981, and based within the ground of the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, Sodemo is most associated with the tuning of Renault engines for performance and motor racing purposes. Sodemo Moteurs is perhaps best known for its preparation of two litre racing engine for Formula 3. Jon Collins (racing Driver)
Jon Collins is a former American basketball player, best known for his collegiate career at Eastern Illinois University between 1982–83 and 1985–86. At the time of his graduation, Collins scored a then-school record 1,702 points, was one of five players to have been an All-Mid Continent Conference First Team honoree three times, and was twice named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year (later named The Summit League). In each of Collins' final three seasons he averaged over 18 points per game and scored over 500 total points. During that span, he reached double figures in 87 of 90 games, including a school-record 53 straight. As a junior in 1984–85, he led the team to a 20–10 overall record and their first Mid-Continent Conference championship. Todd Matthew Hazelwood (born 25 September 1995) is an Australian professional racing driver competing in the Repco Supercars Championship. He currently drives the #3 CoolDrive Racing Ford Mustang for Melbourne-based team, Blanchard Racing Team (BRT). Todd is currently in his sixth season racing in the premier Australian motorsport category and has achieved both a podium finish and Pole Position during this time.
