2012–13 Polish Cup
The 2012–13 Polish Cup was the fifty-ninth season of the annual Polish football knockout tournament. It began on 18 July 2012 with the first matches of the extra preliminary round and ended on 3 May 2013 with the final. The winners qualified for the second qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League. Legia Warsaw were the defending champions, having won their record breaking 15th title in the previous season. They successfully defended this title, becoming the winner of the Polish Cup for the 16th time in history. Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza Klub Sportowy Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza, is a professional Polish football club based in Nieciecza, Poland. Kolejarz Stróże is a Polish football club based in Stróże. Kolejarz's biggest success since their foundation in 1949 was finishing in the fourth place of 2011–12 I Liga, just two years after their first promotion to the second tier. Zawisza Bydgoszcz () is a sports club from Bydgoszcz, Poland, founded in 1946. Its name commemorates a legendary Polish 15th-century knight, Zawisza Czarny (Zawisza the Black). Pogoń Szczecin Spółka Akcyjna, commonly referred to as Pogoń Szczecin (), is a Polish professional football club, based in Szczecin, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, which plays in the Ekstraklasa, the top tier of the national football league system. Gliwicki Klub Sportowy Piast Gliwice () is a Polish football club based in Gliwice. In the 2018–19 season, Piast won its first Polish championship. GKS Bełchatów is a Polish professional football club based in Bełchatów that currently plays in the IV liga. History GKS Bełchatów entered Poland's Klasa A in 1977 under the name of Węgiel Brunatny Bełchatów, and gained promotion to the III liga in the 1981–82 season. It took the club another seven years to rise to the II liga (1986/1987 season), before winning a place in the top-tier I liga in 1992. After another spell in II liga, the club again won promotion to the I liga at the end of the 2004–05 season. The club finished the 2005–06 season in 10th place, with 37 points.
