2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League Semifinals
The 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League Semifinals took place from June to July 2013. A total of 16 teams competing in 2 events were part in this round of the tournament playing for 7 berths in the Final, played between 10 and 18 January 2014 in New Delhi, India. This round also served as the qualifier for the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup as the 6 highest placed teams apart from the host nation and the five continental champions qualified. Qualification 8 teams ranked between 1st and 8th in the FIH World Rankings current at the time of seeking entries for the competition qualified automatically. After Germany announced they would not be able host a Semifinal due to financial restrictions, Malaysia was chosen to do so therefore exempt from Round 2, to which were qualified by ranking basis. 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League
The 2012–13 Men's FIH Hockey World League was the inaugural season of the men's field hockey national team league series. The tournament started in August 2012 in Prague, Czech Republic and finished in January 2014 in New Delhi, India. The Semifinals of this competition also served as a qualifier for the 2014 Men's Hockey World Cup as the 6 highest placed teams apart from the host nation and the five continental champions qualified. The Netherlands won the tournament's Final round for the first time after defeating New Zealand 7–2 in the final match. England won the third place match by defeating Australia 2–1. Tim Pullman is an international field hockey umpire from Australia who has officiated over 150 international games since his debut in 1999 including two consecutive Summer Olympics. "Advance Australia Fair" is the national anthem of Australia. Written by Scottish people, Scottish-born composer Peter Dodds McCormick, the song was first performed in 1878, sung in Australia as a patriotic song. "God Defend New Zealand" (, meaning 'New Zealand') is one of two national anthems of New Zealand, the other being "God Save the King". John-John Dohmen
John-John Dominique Dohmen (born 24 January 1988) is a Belgian professional field hockey player who plays for Orée and the Belgium national team as a midfielder. Biography John-John Dohmen was born in Anderlecht in 1988, and spent his youth in Ittre. He has graduated in ergotherapy. Cédric Daniel André Charlier (born 27 November 1987) is a Belgian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Racing Club de Bruxelles and the Belgian national team. Club career Charlier started playing hockey at Uccle and played there until he was 19 years old, when he went to Racing Bruxelles. In July 2019, he made a transfer to Dragons. Hugo Valentin Paul Genestet (born 2 March 1992) is a French field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Belgian club Waterloo Ducks and the French national team. Club career Genestet played for Saint Germain in France before he joined Leuven in Belgium in 2014. He played there until 2016 when he returned to France. Viktor Stanley Lockwood (born 29 March 1992) is a French field hockey player who plays as a defender for Lille and the French national team. Club career Lockwood started playing hockey when he was eight years old for Rochin. He then played for Lille until 2014 when he joined the Waterloo Ducks in Belgium. Roc Oliva Isern (born 18 July 1989), also known as "Metra", is a Spanish former field hockey player who played as a midfielder or forward for the Spanish national team. Oliva played most of his career for Atlètic Terrassa HC but from the 2018–19 season onwards he played for Real Club de Polo until his retirement in 2021. He also played for Amsterdam and HGC in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. His father Jordi and sister Georgina are also both Olympic hockey players.
