2012–13 Basketball League Of Serbia
The 2012–13 Basketball League of Serbia season is the 7th season of the Basketball League of Serbia, the highest professional basketball league in Serbia. It is also 69th national championship played by Serbian clubs inclusive of nation's previous incarnations as Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro. The first half of the season consists of 14 teams and 182-game regular season (26 games for each of the 14 teams) began on Saturday, October 8, 2012 and will end on Sunday, March 16, 2013. The second half of the season consists of 3 teams from Adriatic League and the best 5 teams from first half of the season. The first half is called First League and second is called Super League. Basketball League Of Serbia
The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, consists of two stages: the First League which has 16 teams and the SuperLeague which has 8 teams. Since the 2017–18 season, the top 8 teams in First League are promoted to Super League with five Serbian teams from the ABA League. Two lowest-placed teams, positioned 15th and 16th in the First League, are relegated to a lower-tier league – Second Basketball League of Serbia. The club currently plays in the Second Regional League of Serbia (4th-tier). Dragan "Gagi" Nikolić ( sr-cyr, Драган "Гаги" Николић; born February 20, 1972) is a Serbian professional basketball coach. Coaching career Nikolić coached Ušće, Mladost Zemun, Metalac Valjevo Tamiš, Proleter Zrenjanin, BKK Radnički, and Karpoš Sokoli. Šumice Cultural and Sports Center ( sr-Cyrl, Центар за културу и спорт Шумице) is an indoor sports arena located in Voždovac, Belgrade, Serbia. The hall is used for basketball, handball, Indoor soccer, indoor football, volleyball, and other sports. The venue was opened on 24 May 1974 and was originally known as the "Vоždovac Union of Pioneers of Yugoslavia, Pioneers Home". It has a total floor area of and includes a sports hall with 2,000 seats and a hall with the stage with 350 seats. Due to the lack of funds and bad maintenance, the venue has been in bad financial situation since the late 1980s and especially since the 2000s. Košarkaški klub Metalac ( sr-cyr, Кошаркашки клуб Металац), commonly referred to as KK Metalac, is a men's professional basketball club based in Valjevo, Serbia. They are currently competing in the Basketball League of Serbia. History Metalac was established on 24 March 1948 as KK Budućnost Valjevo. Six days later, the club played its first official game in Čačak against Borac and lost 69:19. In a relatively short period of time, they managed to qualify for a higher level of competition, entering the South Group of a then minor Serbian League under the new name Metalac in 1954.
