2012 Women's Masters Basel
The 2012 Women's Masters Basel were held from October 12 to 14 at the Curlingzentrum Region Basel in Basel, Switzerland as part of the 2012–13 World Curling Tour. The event was held in a triple knockout format, and the purse for the event was 32,000 CHF, of which the winner, Margaretha Sigfridsson, received 10,000 CHF. Sigfridsson won her second straight Women's Masters Basel title with a 6–3 win over Silvana Tirinzoni Silvana Petra Tirinzoni (born 25 June 1979) is a Swiss curler from Zurich. Binia Feltscher (born 13 October 1978 in Chur) is a Switzerland, Swiss retired Curling, curler from Flims. She was the Skip (curling), skip of the 2014 and 2016 World championship curling teams from Switzerland. From 2006 to 2013 she was known as Binia Feltscher-Beeli. Career Feltscher began curling in 1989 and started skipping in 2007. Feltscher was the third of the Swiss team skipped by Mirjam Ott at the 2006 Winter Olympics, where she won a silver medal. With Ott, Feltscher won silver medals at the European Curling Championships in 2004 and 2005 and a bronze in 2006. Team Ott represented Switzerland at the 2005 World Women's Curling Championship and finished eighth with a 4–7 record. Feltscher left the Ott rink in 2007 to form her own team. Chiara Olivieri (born 9 September 1979 in Negrar) is an Italian curler from Cortina d'Ampezzo. She presently is the alternate for the team skipped by Diana Gaspari. Career Olivieri has represented Italy at 4 European Curling Championships and two World Curling Championships. Her first event as a member of the Italian women's team was the 2001 European Curling Championships, when she played lead. The team finished 11th at the event. She was demoted to the team's alternate position for the 2002 and 2003 European Championships and the 2004 World Championships. Jennifer Carmichael "Jenn" Dodds (born 1 October 1991) is a Scottish curler. She currently plays mixed doubles with Bruce Mouat, representing Scotland and Great Britain. She is the 2022 Olympic champion in women's curling and the 2022 World champion in mixed doubles curling. Career Dodds played second for the Hannah Fleming junior rink that won a silver medal at the 2013 World Junior Curling Championships. Lauren Gray (born 3 November 1991) is a Scottish curler from Stirling. As alternate for the Eve Muirhead rink, she won a gold medal at the 2013 World Championships for Scotland, and a bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics for Great Britain. She became lead for Muirhead's team in 2016, and won a gold medal at the 2017 European Championships. In 2019, she was promoted to third on the team, but returned to playing lead in 2021. After a disappointing result in the 2021 World Championships, Gray was dropped from Eve Muirhead's team and replaced by Hailey Duff. Career Youth Fleming began her junior career by winning a gold medal at the 2009 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, playing third for the Scottish team, skipped by Anna Sloan.
