2012 Superstars Series Season
The 2012 Superstars Series season was the ninth year of the Superstars Series, an Italian-based touring car racing series, featuring the ninth edition of the Campionato Italiano Superstars (Italian Superstars Championship) and the sixth year of the International Superstars Series. The season began at Monza on April 1 and finished at Pergusa on October 28, after eighth round. A ninth round was planned at Sentul but it was cancelled. All eight rounds counted towards the International title, with five rounds counting towards the Italian title. Both championship were won by Johan Kristoffersson driving for Audi. Superstars Series
The Superstars International Series was a production-based touring car racing championship held between 2004 and 2013. It was managed by the "Superstars World of Racing SpA", SWR, a company of FG GROUP with headquarters in Rome and sanctioned by the Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI) and the Commissione Sportiva Automobilistica Italiana (CSAI). FG GROUP, led by Maurizio Flammini, is famous for having promoted the FIM World Superbike Championship from its beginnings in 1988 until its sale to Infront Sports & Media in 2007. After the shutdown of the promoter SWR in late 2013, the competition has been re-branded as 2014 EuroV8 Series, EuroV8 Series and organized by FG Group and ATT (Associazione Team Top cars). Jeffrey Frank Smith (born 27 March 1966) is a British auto racing driver and businessman. He is the owner of Industrial Control Distributors and Eurotech Racing, who he previously drove for in the British Touring Car Championship. Racing career Renault Clio Cup UK Born in Coventry, Smith entered the Renault Clio Cup UK championship in 2008, competing in all but two events. He continued in 2009 with a best result of 9th in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch. Michele "Miky" Faccin (born January 19, 1990, in Padova) is a professional racing driver from Italy. Career Karting Faccin began his motorsport career in karting back in 2002, and two years later finished fourth in the Italian Championship ICA Junior class. Thomas Michael Onslow-Cole (born 16 May 1987 in Kingston, Surrey ) is a British auto racing driver. He won the International GT Open in Pro-Am category in 2018 and in 2019 and the 24H Series in 2015. Simone Iacone (born February 8, 1984 in Pescara) is an Italian auto racing driver. After winning the Italian Alfa Challenge (under 25) in 2003 and the European Alfa Romeo 147 Challenge in 2004, he made his Italian Supertutismo Championship debut in the 2006.
