2012 Blancpain Endurance Series Season
The 2012 Blancpain Endurance Series season was the second season of the Blancpain Endurance Series. The season featured six rounds lasting three hours each, starting on 14 April at Monza and ended in October at Navarra. An improved support package was added with the British Formula 3 Championship and Blancpain Revival Series was present at selected rounds and the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo was present at all events. Calendar On 9 December 2011, the Stéphane Ratel Organisation announced the 2012 calendar. Entry list On 17 February, SRO released the provisional entry list for the first round at Monza. Blancpain Endurance Series
The GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, formerly for sponsorship reasons the Blancpain Endurance Series from 2011 to 2015 and Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup from 2016 to 2019, is a sports car racing series developed by SRO Motorsports Group and the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium (RACB) with approval from the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It features grand tourer racing cars modified from production road cars complying with the FIA's GT3 regulations. The series's goal is to be an endurance racing championship for GT3 cars, similar to the European Le Mans Series which uses GTE cars and Le Mans Prototypes. The series was primarily sponsored by Swiss watchmaker Blancpain, and the company's Lamborghini Super Trofeo series serve as support races. In 2019, SRO announced that their sponsorship deal with Blancpain had been discontinued and the series was renamed the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup for the 2020 season. Nürburgring
The is a 150,000 person capacity motorsports complex located in the town of Nürburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It features a Grand Prix race track built in 1984, and a long "North loop" track, built in the 1920s, around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. Andrea Piccini
Andrea Piccini (born 12 December 1978 in Sansepolcro) is an Italian racing driver who is the part-owner and team principal of the Iron Lynx Motorsport Lab ELMS and Italian F4 team. Single Seaters Piccini began his single seater career in 1994, when he began competing in go-kart races. In 1997, he started competing in Formula Opel Europe. He finished third in the 1998 standings. He went on to race in International Formula 3000 in 1999 up until 2001, picking up only six points in the three seasons. In 2001, he was signed as a test driver for the European Minardi Formula One. Marco Bonanomi
Marco Bonanomi (born 12 March 1985 in Lecco) is an Italian professional racing driver. Career Formula Renault Bonanomi began his car racing career in 2001 by competing in a few rounds of the Formula Renault Eurocup and Italian Formula Renault championships with the Cram Competition team. He took part in the same series in 2002, but moved to the RP Motorsport team. Four years later, Bonanomi drove in four races of the 2006 Formula Renault 3.5 Series season for Tech 1 Racing, starting his current career trend. Laurens Vanthoor (; born 8 May 1991) is a Belgian professional racing driver currently racing for Porsche Motorsport as a factory driver in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Christopher Mies (born 24 May 1989) is a professional German racing driver who currently competes for Audi Sport in GT3 series such as ADAC GT Masters and GT World Challenge Europe. Career Mies began his career in 2006 in the Toyota Yaris Cup Germany, followed in 2007 by the Ford Fiesta Cup Germany. While racing a Ford Fiesta ST he won Division 2 of the ADAC Procar Series in 2008. The Audi R8 is a mid-engine, 2-seater sports car, which uses Audi's trademark quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. It was introduced by the German car manufacturer Audi AG in 2006. The car is exclusively designed, developed, and manufactured by Audi AG's private subsidiary company manufacturing high performance automotive parts, Audi Sport GmbH (formerly quattro GmbH), and is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo and presently the Huracán platform. W Racing Team (WRT) is a Belgian auto racing team founded in 2009 by engineer and former head of Volkswagen Motorsport René Verbist, racing driver Vincent Vosse, and entrepreneur Yves Weerts.
