2011–12 Purdue Boilermakers Men's Basketball Team
The 2011–12 Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball team represented Purdue University. The head coach of the Boilermakers was Matt Painter, in his ninth season with the Boilers. The team played its home games in Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana, U.S., and was a member of the Big Ten Conference. Matt Painter
Matthew Curtis Painter (born August 27, 1970) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently the men's basketball coach at Purdue University, having held that position since 2005. Before Purdue, Painter held coaching positions at Southern Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Barton College, and Washington & Jefferson College. Painter runs a motion offense. Painter's teams are also known for their "stout, stingy, defense" and their "overwhelming offense." Since taking the helm at Purdue, Painter's teams have consistently placed in the top 15 of offensive and defensive efficiency nationally. With Painter at the helm, Purdue teams have reached the NCAA Tournament 13 times, with six Sweet-Sixteen appearances, and 1 Elite Eight appearance. Nebraska Cornhuskers Men's Basketball
The Nebraska Cornhuskers men's basketball team represents the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference of NCAA Division I. The program's first year of competition was 1897, and NU has since compiled an all-time record of 1,535–1,417, with seven NCAA tournament and sixteen NIT appearances. The team has been coached by Fred Hoiberg since 2019. Nebraska did not make the NCAA Tournament until 1986 and remains the only major-conference program to have never won a tournament game.
