2011–12 Indonesia Super League
The 2011–12 Indonesia Super League was the fourth season of the Indonesia Super League (ISL), a fully professional football competition as the top tier of the football league pyramid in Indonesia. The season began on 1 December 2011. Persipura Jayapura were the defending champions, having won their 3rd league title the previous season. This season was also the first season of ISL organized without authorization from PSSI due to internal conflict. PSSI under chairman Johar Arifin officially decided to replace ISL as a top level with the Indonesian Premier League. It was then recognized by other faction of PSSI under chairman La Nyalla Matalatti. Srivijaya ( id, Sriwijaya) was a Buddhist thalassocratic empire based on the island of Sumatra (in modern-day Indonesia), which influenced much of Southeast Asia. Srivijaya was an important centre for the expansion of Buddhism from the 7th to the 12th century AD. Srivijaya was the first polity to dominate much of western Maritime Southeast Asia. Bontang Football Club (formerly known as PKT Bontang or Pupuk Kaltim) is an Indonesian professional football team located in Bontang, East Kalimantan in the island of Borneo. The homebase is Mulawarman Stadium. Bontang FC prides itself as the most successful club to come out of Kalimantan. Persema Malang
Persema, an acronym for Persatuan Sepakbola Malang is an Indonesian football club based in Malang, East Java. They currently compete in the Liga 3. History The club was officially established in 1953, with primary funding from Malang's municipal budget. It was part of the Indonesian Super League until January 2011 when they hosted LPI's inaugural match and stopped relying on public funds. The other local team, Arema FC, is one of the most successful clubs in ISL. The team's nickname is "Bledeg Biru" while its home stadium is Gajayana Stadium. Persema has never won a trophy during its years in the Indonesian Super League, mostly dwelling in the mid to bottom part of the table. The Asian Football Confederation is the governing body of association football, beach soccer, and futsal in some countries/territories in Asia and Oceania. It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in Oceania Football Confederation, OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Djohar Arifin Husein
Djohar Arifin Husin (born 13 September 1950) is a former chairman of the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) from 2011 to 2015, replacing former corruption-convict Nurdin Halid. He was also a General Secretary of National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI), under the leadership of Agum Gumelar and Regional Board of PSSI North Sumatra. He was an active professor in the Islamic University of North Sumatra and expert staff in the Ministry of Youth and Sports. In his youth, he was also a footballer and football referee in the national level. He was chosen as chairman of PSSI in the extraordinary congress of PSSI on 9 July 2011 in Surakarta.
