2011 Toulon Tournament
The 2011 Toulon Tournament was the 39th edition of the Toulon Tournament and took place from 1 June to 10 June. Ivory Coast were the defending champions, but they failed to win a single match and were eliminated in the group stage. Colombia won the tournament by defeating France 3–1 in a penalty shoot-out in the final, after the match had finished in a 1–1 draw. James Rodríguez won the ''Meilleur joueur'' award for the most outstanding player of the tournament. Luis Fernando Muriel Fruto (born 16 April 1991) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Atalanta and the Colombia national team. Having started his professional career with Colombian side Deportivo Cali, Muriel joined Udinese. John Stefan Medina Ramírez (born 14 June 1992) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays for Liga MX club Monterrey and the Colombia national team. Initially, Medina debuted for Atlético Nacional as a centre-back. As time progressed, he has shown to be comfortable playing as a right-back and on some occasions as a defensive midfielder. Yerson Candelo Miranda (born 24 February 1992) is a Colombian footballer who plays as a right winger for brazilian Série A club Criciúma.
