2011 FIA GT1 Beijing Round
The 2011 FIA GT1 Beijing round was an auto racing event held at the Goldenport Park Circuit, Beijing, China on 8–10 September, and was the ninth round of the 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship season. It was the FIA GT1 World Championship's second race held in China, a week after the Ordos round as well as at the Goldenport Park. This was a stand-alone event with no support races. Background Ordos Championship Race winner Frédéric Makowiecki was at the 6 Hours of Silverstone and was replaced by Bertrand Baguette who had previously raced for Marc VDS in 2011 at the Navarra round. Jonathan Hirschi replaced Vanina Ickx in the No. 9 Belgian Racing Ford GT alongside regular Christoffer Nygaard. Nico Verdonck returns to Exim Bank Team China replacing Sérgio Jimenez in the No. 12 car. Like Baguette, he had previously raced for the Chinese team at Navarra behind the wheel of the No. 11 car. Selleslagh Racing Team (SRT) is a Belgian racing team, currently competing in the GT4 European Series. In the 2010 season the team competed under the Mad-Croc Racing banner, the result of a collaboration between SRT and DKR Engineering of Luxembourg. Michaël Rossi (born 12 April 1988 in Chambéry) is a French racing driver. Career After racing in karting, Rossi raced in the Championnat de France Formula Renault 2.0 in 2006 driving for both SG Formula and Hexis Racing. However he only scored one point in 11 races, placing him 21st in the standings. Markus Winkelhock
Markus Winkelhock (born 13 June 1980) is a German professional racing driver. He is the son of Manfred Winkelhock and nephew of Joachim Winkelhock, both of whom were Formula One drivers in the 1980s. During his brief Formula One career he led the 2007 European Grand Prix for several laps before retiring with mechanical problems. Marc Basseng (born 12 December 1978 in Engelskirchen) is a German racing driver. Career Basseng began his career in karting. In 1997 he began competing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany for the UPS Porsche Junior Team, finishing third in the 1998 standings.
