2011 European Diving Championships
The 2011 European Diving Championships was the secondedition of the European Diving Championships and took part from 8–13 March 2011 in Turin, Italy. For the second time, the event was held separately from the European Swimming Championships. The event was held on Monumentale Diving Stadium. The former capital of Italy was hosting European Diving Championships for the third time after 1954 and 2009. The 2011 Championships were also an event within the frame of the 150-year celebrations of the unification of Italy. A total of ten disciplines was on the schedule. Tania Cagnotto
Tania Cagnotto (; born 15 May 1985) is an Italian diver. She is the first female Italian diver to win a medal in a World Championship. A five-time Olympian, she won medals in both individual and synchronized springboard diving in her final appearance at the Olympics in 2016. She is also a 20-time champion at the European level. Biography Tania Cagnotto was born in Bolzano, the daughter of Giorgio Cagnotto and Carmen Casteiner. Her parents were both Olympic divers, with her father winning four Olympic medals in the 1970s and 1980s. Cagnotto was sponsored by the sport section of the Italian police force, GN Fiamme Gialle – Bolzano Nuoto. Cagnotto won her first European gold medal at the 2004 championships in Madrid at the age of 19, winning the 10-meter platform event and also receiving a bronze medal for her performance in the 3-meter springboard competition. Iuliia Prokopchuk
Yulia Anatoliyivna Prokopchuk ( uk, Юлія Анатоліївна Прокопчук, also transliterated Yuliia or Iuliia; born 23 October 1986) is a retired Ukrainian diver. She has won seven gold medals at the European Championships and two medals (silver and bronze) at the World Championships. Career Prokopchuk participated in the 10 m platform event at the 2008 Summer Olympics. With her partner, Viktoriya Potyekhina, she won the silver medal in the 10 m synchro event of the European Aquatics Championships. A few months later, Prokopchuk appeared at the 2012 Summer Olympics, competing in the 10 m platform event and in the 10 m platform synchronized event with Potyekhina. Prokopchuk won bronze in the 10 m platform event at the 2013 World Championships and silver in the team event at the 2015 World Championships.
