High River
High River is a town within the Calgary Metropolitan Region of Alberta, Canada. It is approximately south of Calgary, at the junction of Alberta Highways 2 and 23. High River had a population of 14,324 in 2021. History The community takes its name from the Highwood River, which flows through the town. Adam Enright
Adam Enright (born November 16, 1983, in Rosalind, Alberta) is a Canadian curler from Edmonton, Alberta. He is a former alternate for Kevin Martin's rink with whom he won a gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics as well as wins at the 2008 Tim Hortons Brier and the 2008 World Men's Curling Championship. Currently, Enright plays third for Kurt Balderston's rink. Career In 2002, Enright won the Alberta Junior Championship as the third for Justin Jacobsen. The team finished with a 6–6 record at the 2002 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Since juniors, Enright has played for such skips as Chris Schille, Charley Thomas and Mark Johnson. In 2006, he played at the Players' Championships as the lead for the Kevin Martin team. They brought him back in 2008 to be their alternate for the Brier and World Championships. Nolan Thiessen
Nolan Thiessen (born November 6, 1980 in Pilot Mound, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler. Career Thiessen, in his debut at Canadian Juniors, lost the final of the 2001 Canadian Junior Curling Championships playing lead for Mike McEwen. Thiessen was a member of the 2003 Winter Universiade championship team. He represented Brandon University, playing lead for Mike McEwen. After university, he played lead for Sean Grassie before moving to play in Alberta as Mark Johnson's lead in 2004. In 2006, he moved to play for Kevin Koe. Thiessen won the 2008 Canada Cup of Curling with the team, and qualified for his first Brier in 2010 as Team Alberta. The team won the Brier after beating Ontario's Glenn Howard 6-5 in the final. Carter Rycroft
Carter Rycroft (born August 29, 1977) is a Canadian curler from Sherwood Park, Alberta. He was a member of the Canadian Olympic team, skipped by Kevin Martin, that won a silver medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics. Career Rycroft joined the Martin rink in 1999 after skipping Team Alberta at the 1998 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and playing for Randy Ferbey. With Martin, he won two provincial championships (2000, 2006), two Canada Cups (2005, 2006) and the Olympic silver medal (2002). He left the Martin rink in 2006 and joined the Kevin Koe rink. Rycroft won another Canada Cup playing second with Koe, followed by his first Brier championship title at Halifax in 2010. Blake MacDonald
Blake "Mac" MacDonald (born April 10, 1976) is a Canadian curler from St. Albert, Alberta. Career For much of his career MacDonald played on Kevin Koe's team. Originally, MacDonald threw last rocks for the team while Koe threw third and skipped, but in 2009 the two switched throwing order and MacDonald moved to third. MacDonald has been playing with Koe since 2006. Prior to that, he threw fourth rocks for Jamie King. MacDonald has also skipped, and was also a member of the Ken Hunka and Brent MacDonald teams in the past. Early on the Koe rink came up short in major competitions. The team did however win the Canada Cup of Curling in 2008. They won their first Brier in 2010, beating Ontario's Glenn Howard in the final, 6–5. David Nedohin
David Nedohin (born December 20, 1973) is a Canadian curler. Nedohin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and now plays out of Sherwood Park, Alberta. He is best known as the longtime fourth for Randy Ferbey. Curling career Nedohin joined the Randy Ferbey rink in 1997 and was a part of that team's four Brier championships and three world championships. Nedohin is renowned for his shotmaking ability - especially for making difficult combination takeout shots. Nedohin had a shooting percentage of 96% in the final of the 2003 Nokia Brier, and 95% shooting percentage in the final of the 2005 Men's Ford World Curling Championships. The team, famously named The Ferbey Four, popularized the "fourth" shooting position. Because of Nedohin's shotmaking ability, he threw the last two stones in each end, or the ''skip rocks''.
