2010 Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom Season
The 2010 Elf Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom with Michelin season began at Thruxton on 4 April and will finish after 20 races over 10 events at Brands Hatch on 10 October. Fifteen drivers from seven teams will take part throughout the season, mainly supporting rounds of the British Touring Car Championship but also supporting the UK round of the World Series by Renault. Teams and drivers Two classes have been introduced for the 2010 season: *All drivers under 23 are eligible for the Graduate Cup, with the class champion earning 25% off a registration fee for the 2011 season. *All drivers over 35 are eligible for the Masters Cup. Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom
The Renault Clio Cup United Kingdom was an entry level One-make, Touring car racing motor sport category and the current name in the long history of Renault one-make cups in the UK. It currently attracts drivers from across the United Kingdom to compete along with several drivers for European countries. The championship has been run to various regulations over the years, and can trace its history back to 1974. Several former drivers have become successful in other Touring car racing formulae, including Andy Priaulx, who went on to become multiple World Touring Car Championship champion and Jason Plato who is multiple British Touring Car Championship champion. The championship currently runs on the support package of the British Touring Car Championship. Oulton Park
Oulton Park is a hard surfaced track used for motor racing, close to the village of Little Budworth, Cheshire, England. It is about from Winsford, from Chester city centre, from Northwich and from Warrington, with a nearby rail connection along the Mid-Cheshire Line. It occupies much of the area which was previously known as the Oulton Estate. The racing circuit is owned and operated by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation. Rockingham Motor Speedway is a former racing motorsport venue in Rockingham, Northamptonshire, England, United Kingdom, near the town of Corby. It hosted professional and club races, as well as testing, track days, driver training, exhibitions and conferences. Silverstone Circuit is a motor racing circuit in England, near the Northamptonshire villages of Towcester, Silverstone and Whittlebury. It is the home of the British Grand Prix, which it first hosted as the 1948 British Grand Prix. The 1950 British Grand Prix at Silverstone was the first race in the newly created World Championship of Drivers. 2010 World Series By Renault Season
The 2010 World Series by Renault was the sixth season of Renault Sport's series of events, with four different championships racing under one banner. Consisting of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, the Eurocup Mégane Trophy and F4 Eurocup 1.6, the World Series by Renault ran at eight different venues, where fans could get into the meetings for no cost whatsoever, such is the uniqueness of the series. The series began on 17 April at the Ciudad del Motor de Aragón in Alcañiz, and finished on 10 October at the Circuit de Catalunya, just outside Barcelona. 2010 saw the season-opening and season-closing rounds from 2009 reverse, with Catalunya hosting the season finale rather than the season opener, with the opposite occurring for Aragón. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship.
