2009–10 Horizon League Men's Basketball Season
The 2009–10 Horizon League men's basketball season marked the 30th season of Horizon League basketball. Preseason In the preseason, Butler was the conference favorite - returning all players from their regular season HL championship team. Butler received all but three first-place votes in the preseason poll of HL coaches, media, and sports information directors. Wright State received the one first place vote, capturing second in the preseason poll, and defending HL Tournament champion Cleveland State claimed two first place votes, finishing third. The preseason player of the year was 2009 HL MVP Matt Howard of Butler. Also in the preseason, one HL player was named to both the John R. The 2009–10 Cleveland State Vikings men's basketball team represented Cleveland State University in the 2009-10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by fourth-year head coach Gary Waters and played their home games at the Wolstein Center. They finished the season 16–17, 10–8 in Horizon League play. Loyola Ramblers
The Loyola Ramblers (also called the Loyola Chicago Ramblers) are the varsity sports teams of Loyola University Chicago. Most teams compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference, which the school joined in 2022 after leaving the Missouri Valley Conference. They previously played in the Horizon League. Notable athletes from Loyola have included middle-distance runner Tom O'Hara, volleyball player Thomas Jaeschke, and basketball players Mike Novak, Jerry Harkness, Les Hunter, Wayne Sappleton, Alfredrick Hughes, LaRue Martin, and Blake Schilb. Brandon Wood (born January 5, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who is a free agent. He played college basketball at Southern Illinois, Valparaiso and Michigan State. High school career Wood played high school basketball at Kokomo High School, in Kokomo, Indiana. College career Wood played college basketball for Southern Illinois, Highland CC, Valparaiso and Michigan State from 2007 to 2012. The Youngstown State Penguins are the athletic teams of Youngstown State University of Youngstown, Ohio. The university is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I, and the Penguins compete in football as members of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Most other sports compete as members of the Horizon League. History Nickname YSU is the only Division I program in the country to use Penguins as its athletic nickname. The 2009–10 Milwaukee Panthers men's basketball represented the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee during the 2009–10 college basketball season. They were led by head coach Rob Jeter. Detroit Titans Men's Basketball
The Detroit Mercy Titans men's basketball team is the college basketball team that represents University of Detroit Mercy in Detroit, Michigan, and competes in NCAA Division I men's basketball as a member of the Horizon League. Traditionally, the Titans have been a fairly strong "mid-major" program, advancing to the Sweet Sixteen in 1977 and to the Round of 32 twice during the 1990s. Elijah Lee Holman (born March 22, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for Libertadores de Querétaro of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP).
