2009–10 FIS Snowboard World Cup
The 2009–10 FIS Snowboard World Cup was a multi race tournament over a season for snowboarding. The season started on 9 October 2009 and lasted until 17 March 2010. The World Cup was organised by the FIS who also run world cups and championships in cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, alpine skiing, and snowboarding. The snowboarding world cup consisted of three events, the parallel slalom, snowboard cross, and the halfpipe. The men's side of the world cup also consisted of a big air Big air is a high-injury-risk sports discipline where the competitor rides a vehicle, such as a motocross motorcycle, a skateboard, a snowboard, or a pair of skis, down a hill or ramp and performs aerial tricks after launching off very large jumps ... competition. FIS Snowboard World Cup
The FIS Snowboard World Cup is an annual snowboarding competition, arranged by the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 1994. Since its inauguration, different disciplines have been added and removed, along with categories used to group them. Currently disciplines contested in the World Cup are: ''Parallel Giant Slalom'' and ''Parallel Slalom'' (grouped into Parallel category), ''Halfpipe'', ''Big Air'' and ''Slopestyle'' (grouped into AFU category) and the discipline-category of Snowboard Cross. Most of these disciplines have been contested on and off throughout the years. The only discipline contested in every season of the World Cup is the Halfpipe (and from 1996–97 season onward the Snowboard Cross). There was an Overall classification until the 2009–10 season. Stoneham Mountain Resort
Stoneham Mountain Resort is a ski resort, located north of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, in the municipality of Stoneham-et-Tewkesbury. It has a peak elevation of above sea level and a vertical drop of . There are 41 trails covering over four mountains. Nineteen trails are available for night skiing, consisting in the largest network of night skiing in Canada. The resort is owned by Resorts of the Canadian Rockies. Andreas Prommegger (born 10 November 1980) is a professional snowboarder. His speciality is the Parallel competitions in Slalom, in which he is the 2017 and 2023 world champion, and Giant Slalom, in which he won the gold medal at the 2017 World Championships. He also won the silver medal in Parallel Slalom at the 2021 World Championships, losing the final to long-time friend and rival Benjamin Karl. By winning the 2023 Parallel Slalom title in Bakuriani at 42, he became the oldest world champion ever not only in snowboarding but in all FIS sanctioned events, except grass skiing. Kreischberg is an Austrian ski resort in Styria, Austria. The area includes the adjacent Rosenkranzhöhe and offers 40 kilometres of slopes altogether. Michael Lambert (snowboarder)
Michael Lambert (born June 25, 1986) is a Canadian snowboarder who currently resides in Toronto, Ontario. Michael competes in the Alpine disciplines, Parallel GS and Parallel Slalom. Lambert has been on the Canadian National Team since 2002 and is currently working with coaches Mark Fawcett and Sylvain Jean.
