2009 European F3 Open Season
The 2009 European F3 Open Championship was the first season with the new championship denomination after eight seasons of the Spanish Formula Three Championship. It began on 2 May 2009 in Valencia and will end on 1 November in Montmeló after 16 rounds in five different countries. The main Class A title was claimed by Bruno Méndez, holding off Celso Míguez by just two points. Callum MacLeod won the secondary Copa F306/300, as well as finishing ninth in the overall championship. Méndez's team Campos Racing also claimed the teams title, beating main rivals Drivex by seven points. Teams and drivers * All cars are powered by Fiat engines. European F3 Open Championship
The Euroformula Open Championship (formerly the Spanish Formula Three Championship, European F3 Open Championship) is a junior formula racing series based in Spain. It was one of six national and international Formula Three championships in Europe and Scandinavia that together used to form an important part of the established "career ladder" below Formula One. The championship's first season was held in 2001. In 2006, it was branded as the Spanish F3 Championship by Toyota, in deference to its sole engine supplier. In 2020, the championship ceased to be a F3-championship and will share its specifications with Japan's Super Formula Lights based on the previous-generation Formula Three standards, primarily with a choice of engines. Michele Faccin
Michele "Miky" Faccin (born January 19, 1990, in Padova) is a professional racing driver from Italy. Career Karting Faccin began his motorsport career in karting back in 2002, and two years later finished fourth in the Italian Championship ICA Junior class. In 2005, he finished as runner-up in the same category whilst also competing in the Italian Open Masters and European Championship ICA Junior classes. Kristján Einar Kristjánsson (born 8 January 1989) is an Icelandic racing driver. He started racing in karts at 14, the age when Icelandic law allows drivers to start racing karts. He is the first ever driver to emerge from Icelandic motorsport (karting) into full international formula racing series. Karting career Kristján Einar was born in Garðabær. Carmen Jordá Buades (born 28 May 1988) is a Spanish motor racing driver. From 2015 to 2017, she was a development driver for the Lotus and Renault Sport Formula One teams. Her appointment by Lotus saw her become just the eleventh woman in history to be part of a Formula 1 team's driver line-up. She has competed in other motor racing series such as GP3, Indy Lights and the Le Mans Series. She was born in Alcoy, Spain and currently resides in Valencia, Spain. Thor–Christian Ebbesvik (born 17 December 1983 in Bergen) is a professional racing driver from Norway. Career Formula Ford Ebbesvik began his racing career in 2005, driving for Team JLR in the British Formula Ford Championship. He finished the year in sixth place and also took part in the end–of–season Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch, where he failed to finish. Team West-Tec F3 is a motor racing team owned by Gavin Wills and John Miller based in Corby in the United Kingdom, the most successful team in the history of the European F3 Open Championship, it also won two drivers championships in the ASCAR Racing Series. Carlos Andrés Muñoz (born 2 January 1992) is a professional racing driver from Colombia. He last drove for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports part-time in the IndyCar Series in 2018. Jesse Kurki-Suonio (born 3 September 1990), more commonly known as Jesse Krohn, is a Finnish professional racing driver, and BMW Motorsport works driver. Kevin Ceccon (born 24 September 1993 in Clusone) is a professional racing driver from Italy. Career Karting Prior to his single–seater career, Ceccon enjoyed a long and successful spell in the junior karting ranks.
